Very interesting. I think Morey had an interest in Teague before.

Brewer and Jones to Pelicans for Ryan Anderson. Pelicans take a bet that Jones will be easier to keep in FA and perhaps a better fit next to Davis. Brewer can help them run the break a bit more.

KJ and Dekker to Suns for PJ Tucker. Trade youth for experience, would fit with where the Suns are now.

Add 2nd round picks, cash as needed.

Smith has solved our big problem in interior and help defense. These two trades will bring a huge improvement in 3-point shooting. Having Anderson in the line-up will open lanes for penetration and make post-play more effective, both Harden and Howard would benefit. Tucker is a good defender and would complement Thorton quite well in the bench unit.

Asik just needs a change of scenery. He's played well in Chicago before, and he played well here (at least in his first season with us). And his value isn't just for future years....they need a center now, and he might be one of the best available.

Also, I think Mirotic's value has dropped. It's not a given that they hold him in such high regard after a disappointing 2nd year in the league. Plus they've got Portis.

You are correct that Mirotic's value has dropped. But dropped from having the negative value of Asik is very big difference. He has dropped from someone who the chicago ppl thought he would be a franchise cornerstone and third banana to someone who now looks like an incosistent role player but with a valuable skill set and youth.
Change of scenery? I'm sure Demps will try to sell it that way to Garpax before he loses his job but why should Chicago take such a risk? What's the compensation?

Personally for let's say the bucks I would need one lottery first in the 10-15 range to take the contract of Asik and probably would still say no.

Here's my basic logic: Morey, one of the smartest GMs in the league, was willing to pay Asik $8.3 per year under the old era of the salary cap. I don't believe he did this with any thought about Asik's contribution on the offensive end.

Asik was traded not because his value had declined or because he was an expiring contract......he was traded because we had Dwight, we could get a 1st from New Orleans, and he could facilitate the SnT for Ariza. That's a big return for one no-offense center on an expiring deal.

Beyond this year, he's signed to a 3 year deal paying him 10 million per. There's also a 4th year team option with a $3 million guarantee.

We signed him when the salary cap was around $60 million.......next year it will be at $90 million. $10 million for a very good defensive center isn't a bad deal at all in the modern era......it's probably better money spent than the $20 million Whiteside will get this summer.

fins he is no longer an elite defensive center with the way he's been playing this year, and the league since he got that contract has changed. It has moved to small ball.

I disagree with some of this list for sure but at least here it is right out of the press. Asik voted the least tradeable contract of the NBA :
    http://basketball.realgm.com/article/240592/NBAs-10-Least-Tradeable-Contracts

He will be able to get traded, for compensation. The only good thing is that his last year is not fully guaranteed.
Trust me I hate the Bulls and would love nothing mroe than to see them saddled with such a contract. It would be glorious. But the deal is not fair nonetheless.

This doesent take into account want Asik has become....he isnt an elite defensive center anymore and the injury history is alittle worrying, while his contract isnt a bad one it certainly isnt close to a good one and comes with risk

That being said i would love this trade

Perhaps Ariza and Beverley for Teague and Korver?

Upgrade at PG, downgrade at SF but Korver is a excellent shooter. We could then make a trade for a defensive forward or give KJ some burn.

ESPN rumor mill says Teague to Knicks, but I don't see Atlanta doing that move as NYC has no picks to give.

the teague to knicks comes from begley -> unreliable "journalist" who always hypes up NY to sell.

Mirotic out for a month. lol Guess they won't trade now Gibson.
And they leak they want to resign Pau. Pau doesn't want to resign with them though.

    I love it.

Jeff Teague hnnnnggggg. I've been wanting him on this squad for a few years now. Can't believe he's actually available. His contract is more than reasonable as well in comparison to the future.

We have way more assets and pieces than the Knicks and pretty much anyone else in the league for that matter save a few teams.

Korver has been off this year and he's getting up there in age but he'll get hot as the season goes on. Once a shooter always a shooter. He would be HUGE for us in the playoffs.

Seriously, Jeff Teague is a MUST have. He's like the East Coast version of Mike Conley (except better IMO) and I know how much this board loves Conley.

I don't care if we have to throw in Harrell or give up a future 1st. I'd even give up D-Mo in addition to the original proposal. Just get it done.

No interest in Teague. Just another mid-tier point guard that we can't control beyond next year.

This is not the time to try to salvage this team. We've demonstrated that we can't compete with the 3 title contenders: Warriors, Spurs and Cavs.

We need to hit the reset button.

    1) Shut down DMo for the year, or trade him to Detriot with McDaniels for Stanley Johnson
    2) trade Dwight, Ariza, etc. for a star in the wrong situation (Love)
    3) Go tankapoloza to keep the 2016 1st
    4) Hire Ettore Messina
    5) Hunt the 2016 free agent market for an undervalued center. Noah, Ezeli, Pachulia, Mozgov.
    6) Sign Llull and Gentile this summer

    Beverley / Llull
    Harden / Gentile
    Johnson / Brewer
    Love / Harrell
    Noah / Capela

what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no rep, and may God have mercy on your soul.
