Amy Schumer stealing jokes/skits from MADTV, others

All comedians steal. They're like musicians.

 

I'd steal to get on tight with JLaw too

 

Could possibly have some of the same writers on MadTV writing for her show. But ya, a lot of borrowed/stolen material.

 

Inspiration is one thing, but some these were pretty bad.

 

This happened with Cook, Mencia and just about any comic who was mainstream and maybe also telegenic enough to get TV and movie work. I think the broader narrative is that struggling comedians are either grittier or more miserable, and maybe therefore smarter or more authentic? Somewhere in the '70s Carlin and Pryor, through others' misreading of their talents, made conventionally unhappy or unattractive people seem more authentic comedically. There's always an attempt to link popularity with undeserved gains based on laziness or purported stupidity of either the performer or the audience.

 

You know who had things stolen from them? The Native Americans.

 

I just don't find her amusing or funny. I don't get the push to make her into something. Are fat, outspoken, obnoxious chicks an under served market? I thought Walmart videos were filling it just fine.

I don't like Any Schumer but the evidence is pretty weak. Some of the joke premises have had multiple people talk about them. The Patrice part isn't even a joke. I love Partice but he is just saying a sex move that many people have said before. He didn't come up with that. Kathleen Madigan is the only one that has a real claim since it's really close to the joke but their are multiple writers on the show so who is to know if it was stolen purposely by Schumer. Along with MadTv clip. Those seem like somebody writing for her show, maybe herself took it but who knows. There are a lot of comedians that I love that stand behind her so I'll take their sides. When Dave Attel vouches for you, you get my benefit of the doubt.

 

Odd, they laugh at you all the time.

can't stand her or melissa mccarthy.

 

Maruy Povich and the Virgin Mary paternity test has been around since I was in high school. Also, the whole "support gay marriage because of gay divorce court" has been around just as long, too.

Just saying, bruh.

 

It'll be funny if her career goes down just like Carlos mencia got caught stealing other comedians jokes.

 

Her fame is so forced, she's just so cringe for me. I have no idea what kind of demographic actually enjoys listening to her.

 

Did David Chappelle steal anything?

She won't. She has far too much backup.

 

She can be very funny.

She is well on her way to being a major star and cultural figure.
