OP's opinion on Dekker is irrationally premature.

Dekker was a very good college player, and though he may not have the ceiling of a future All-Star, may very well end up as a good NBA player for years to come, hopefully with this injury as a blip on his resume.

Give the kid time to recover from surgery, jeez.

He's got good size and his shot is capable of improving IMO.

But this back injury... got damn. Hope it isn't a recurring thing a la DMo.

How does his back injury differ from DMo's?
If it is similar are we not looking for him to produce maybe sometime next year

You maybe right but IF he can be in a deal with TJones to get the team much needed help at PF spot I hope Morey does it.

Man Parsons look like a rail in that pic. He looks 20 pounds heavier now.

I'd disagree with you that he doesn't have a single translatable skills. He has multiple skills - efficiency at the rim, athleticism, midrange jumper, vision, passing - just none of these were really at an elite level. So while you might be right that he flames out, I disagree that he is without skill.

    Should've been Jerian Grant.
4 year guy at Notre Dame. He would've been a helpful hedge with our rolling the dice with Ty and with how often Bev gets injured.
    But noooooooo.

I honestly think that the hope was that he would be another Parsons. I don't see it, but the sample size is still too small to tell.

Not sure if the thread is serious.

18 pick is an asset, you just don“t waive your draftee.

Dekker is obviously a combo forward, for me is a pick screaming a desire to go small even before the season, his presence could, in theory, allow ariza to keep playing the 3 while we have another quick player at the 4.

chances are most of our draft picks don't pan out... I mean just based on the draft picks from the 3, 4 years... besides tjones and capela , who else's left?

The jury's still out, but I'm guessing this is another wasted 1st rounder by Morey.

We turned 2012 and 2013 first round draft picks into James Harden.

i'm reserving judgement until he plays a full season or two. Surprised folks are already prognosticating his emending bust without having seen him play healthy NBA basketball.
