The fact is that the TEAM is playing BETTER since Smoov got here. If you guys are saying they are getting the same looks (I disagree) then what is the difference... Oh, oh, I know..CHEMISTRY ! DD
Stats are meant to support the seasoned eye, not the other way around - to confirm or to uncover things that are missed. DD
I do think Josh improves spacing and somehow makes the movement better (more effort? more direction?) His shooting and shot selection are infuriating at times and it's for this reason that I have a hard time believing that we can have significant success if we are dependent on him as a scorer. But I do see a difference, whether it's due to Josh's play or better morale I can't say.
I agree, neither Brewer or Smith are consistent enough to be KEY pieces in a championship team - but they can be energy people and for THIS team they make it much better. DD
We are not depending on J-Smoove to be a scorer. We are depending on him to come off the bench and contribute a lot whether it be through passing, defense, scoring. Ultimately, he is still a role player and not a primary or secondary or even third option to score. For scoring, it is: 1. Harden 2. Howard 3. Thorton 4. Smith When D-Mo gets back, I imagine he will be inserted ahead of Thorton making Smith our 5th scoring option. Basically, we need him to just go in and **** **** up, hopefully not for our team.
We may not depend on his scoring, but he does take 15 shots a game so he might not be on the same page... I like him as a playmaker but I don't think anyone, except for Smoove himself, mistakes him for a real shooter. I'm hoping he brings it on D too.
If you only paid attention to wins and losses like basketball simpletons like DD, then you probably thought the Rockets were destined for contention after the little winning streak. Some people never learn.
How about we pass the ball and take good shots... Oh, and don't turnover the ball. It's amazing what can happen when these things happen...
Jsmoove...... you only get 10 FGA per game..... and if you're less than 5 feet from the basket, you use the backboard.....
