Hillary Clinton weighs in via her surrogate daughter Chelsea Clinton.

If someone somehow manages to get through and ask Hillary what she or her husband have ever done for black people, at least she will be able to point to this, even though this really doesn't help them in any practically identifiable sort of a way, and it was not actually her doing it, even though she could have made this statement as easily as Chelsea did, if she had wanted to.

Clearly this is just Hillary Clinton pandering for the black vote by exploiting and exacerbating the racial divisions on this.

Who said it wasn't? It's a bit different then what is actually being discussed.

Any ways, if you even care about this topic as much as you pretend to then you'd listen to Elba's speech on it.

Until then it seems you are more concerned about whether some white people were called racist or how to play political football with it.

Chelsea needs to decide how much of her parents' baggage and press she wants to take on at the expense of a great life and career she's already built for herself. That having been said Clinton and Democrats won't ever need to pander to blacks, too much state and local action in the immediate post-civil rights era kept blacks at a tenuous enough position socially and economically that they will always support the more bureaucratic, spendthrift and federally oriented party.

Interesting to note that the Daily Mail article that mojoman cites does more to speak to the need for change and even reports that some changes are already in process.

A new YouGuv poll shows that most Americans don't believe that "a lack of diversity" is a problem in this year's Oscars, as in their opinion, the best candidates received the nominations regardless of skin color.

However, a certain segment of the population in particular does not agree.

Well that's one way to spin it "Most Americans" and "Most Americans" happen to be white, who are saying that there is enough diversity.

I mean really, polls are not evidence of fact. If they were, then the civil rights movement would have died since "Most Americans" then at the time thought this certain segment of the population were complaining...so umm yeah?

"...a certain segment". You know, those black people, always causing trouble, always wanting special treatment...
