To that end, let me mention that Codman alluded a couple weeks back to prying a 7er from the Sixers, something to that effect. Nerlens Noel didn't seem worth it to me (we got the same player, kind-of, and much later in the draft), so I thought he might have been thinking Jahlil Okafor. God knows what we'd have to offer. I know Hinkie was behind the DMo draft pick before he jumped ship to the 76ers. And I don't think he wanted to let K.J. McDaniels go. But those two paired together, even if you add to the conspiracy that DMo is better than our peeps is letting on, don't quite equal a Top 3 Pick in the draft. If we wrangled Markieff and sent him home to Philly with KJ. STILL not quite an Okafor, nope. The 76ers do have to make some decisions as far as what to do with their "Scylla" of centers, although they might wait until the summer.
gotta attach positive value to get Brewer traded. Alone he won't. Perhaps BKN if they have some expirings and you send Jones and a second? Who knows. But first they should get a GM. It will take a while. And...Wall signed with Rich Paul. Agent Lebron's power grows by the day.
I was thinking about them as an option, the only issue being their delusional free agent hopes and the cap room involved. Hopefully they're desperate enough for young talent to bite on Jones (lol "talent").
Beverley (26) / Lawson (26) Harden (36) Ariza (36) / Brewer (20) DMo (25) / Smith (25) Howard (36) / Capela (10) There's really only two directions you can go with a trade at this point: 1) Replacing DMo's production if he can't return to his 2014-2015 self. 2) Increasing the talent level at PG, SF and PF. #1 is pretty simple, because it would just involve trading non-rotation players for a big that fits our system. Here's my favorite possibility: HOU In: Mirotic CHI In: Asik, Thornton NOP In: McDaniels, TJones, Brooks Houston gets a stretch 4. Chicago replaces Noah and gets the wing shooter they need. NOP gets mid-tier prospects and Brooks would probably get bought out. #2 would surprise me (and everyone) Bev/Lawson is a solid PG rotation and the teams with better ones aren't selling. Also, considering how long it's taken to get Lawson integrated, I don't see us hitting the reset button there at this point. Replacing Ariza with a better SF is also unlikely. Maaaaybe Middleton, but that would cost an arm and a leg. A PF upgrade is the most likely option, but again, what are you willing to pay?
My point is sign 6-10 wing, Raphiael Putney, to a 10 day instead of some pie in the sky chemistry killing trade.
Iam really opening up to something malakas said a couple of weeks ago.....galloway looks good i would try to get him somehow
You'd have to think Lawson might just be of some interest for the 76ers? a) seems the organisation is fed up with losing, they seem to want to get some wins, and get 'em now. This will be their last year of tanking, and if the score is Simmons or Ingram, they are going to want some guys who can play with him (and their current talent) right away and get some wins up. b) 76ers want to make a move in free agency, but they really need a fallback position. Chances are good they strike out on the really big names, and are then stuck overpaying the 2nd tier, or missing out on them as well. Ty is a nice fallback position, non-guaranteed contract (you bet Hinkie will appreciate that) at not enormous dollars IF Ty finds a situation he can land on his feet. c) The D'Antoni thing. The guy seems to have a knack for getting PGs to produce. As Associate Head Coach he is wrangling great numbers out of Ish Smith, heck, he even got Fatty Felton 18 and 8. One thinks he might be the guy to get Lawson moving as a 20-10 prospect. You never know, but a Lawson + Motie for Noel package might appeal. Gives the 76ers a PG for next year who (in the past) lead a team to 50+ wins. Motiejunas is a 'soft spot' for Hinkie, he might believe their organisation can get the most out of him. Surely won't be getting paid overly much in free agency at this stage? Noel gives good cover if Dwight walks, OR gives the option of moving him now for the best possible return (Capela, Noel wouldn't be the worst rim protection in the league)
If philly wants lawson they will pay him next year when they will have like 70 million to spend. Or they will trade for a young one. Not lawson who is too old for their core and has duis.
yes...and? He's not worth even a 8 per contract. He should do like Rondo did and take a 1+1 to recuperate his value in some bad team..perhaps BKN (though i'm sure they will give him more $ anyway).
How about TJones for Scola? We get a role player PF that can pass, hit a jump shot, pick up trash and make FTs. Not bad 3pt % either. Trade machine says salaries work.
forgive the consecutive post..but the Magic have been in serious free fall. 10 out of the last 11 and only a win in January. Skiles is the owner's personal friend and choice and though if it continues he may get fired, I think the next step is trade over Skiles firing. And by trade I mean trade of a young player. Perhaps Hezonja or Fournier. I think it's very likely because the Magic are "win now" (4th year of rebuild and they got tired) and they are almost the 13th seed in the east. Their roster isn't working. Even with Skiles the defence is bad and they don't show much effort.
I think they would do that, though they would prefer to trade Fournier. He should be their priority because they can't pay three wings 15+ and he's the one expiring. I also think they would prefer KJ over Dekker. Anyway if this continues I fully expect a Orlando trade.
Damn..... Give me what you are smoking. I'm not sure if Hezonja just talked too big of a game before coming over, but he's only been able to average 14 MPG on a mediocre team. He's not a terrible player.... but gladly giving Capela for him.... Nah son.
