Yeah people don't realize how when we have injuries like Dwight and Dmo we have to have someone on the floor. And players that can hold their own aren't just hanging out as free agents or on waivers.

Yes his numbers suck. He's no Draymond that's for sure. But I, and I'm pretty sure the whole team, feel a lot better knowing we have Smith coming off that bench rather than a rookie or having to go small all game.

Josh Smith and DMo are the only bigs that have shown to be able to swing the ball on the perimeter. So glad Smoove is back now that DMo's status is up in the air

But if he did make his shots think how good we be. Harden was shooting piss poor too at the beginning

He looked a bit out of shape coming off the back to back last night IMO. He wasn't getting much playing with the Clippers so it may take him a little time to get his game legs back.

No, it is really less money. His remaining Pistons contract is paid over 5 years so he is getting 5.4 million from the Pistons and 1.5 from the Clippers/Rockets which gives him a total of 6.9. Had he signed with the Rockets he would have been getting 7.9.

Only thing, Josh will never be able to shoot like Harden. ;)

He doesn't have to though. His %s will likely still go up quite a bit, because he has been shooting very poorly. As long as he keeps doing what he usually does and keeps the 'stupid' TOs to a minimum, he brings so much to this team - defense, energy, spacing and a secondary playmaker.

Those are all things that we have been missing all season long.

On a side note, I really hope this will be the end of Capela&Howard starting together. So much more room for the guards to attack the paint.

Not to mention this was his 3rd game in 4 nights. Even a player in great shape can struggle under those circumstances.

Suprised people aren't calling him Osh Smith yet. Some players get all the hate while others get away unscathed.

I think the main reasons he left were..

    1) Playing time - he only had Blake and Jordan to deal with in LA. With the Rockets, he had Dwight, Capela, Jones, and DMO

    2) Fun lifestyle - LA > HOU

I agree. He sucked last night and I don't know if its Smith or not but it looks like we are playing harder. The refs almost robbed us but we pulled it off. There is still hope for this team. In the west I really don't think seeding matters as long as we are 6th or better and healthy.

Don't forget the most popular reasons here on CF - those are some legit reasons too: Harden hit on his girl; Players don't respect Harden and don't like playing with Harden

But yeah agree - I think it was the KJ situation and Doc's promise of a bigger role with DJ and Blake being the only two players ahead of him in the rotation.

It's called the intangibles. Defense, rebounds, hockey assists etc...They don't show up in the boxscore, that's why you have no idea what they are:rolleyes:

Turnovers are down esp Harden because josh is able to take the ball of Harden's hand instead of Harden isoing the shot clock down and forcing something or turning it over

But yes stats are everything. You can't quantify chemistry, hustle, heart - all the intangibles with stats

OTOH you can cherry picks stats like the delusional kool aider jordnnn and say if only he made X more shots his FG% would be 50% and his 3 point % would be 40% LOL
