And that worked out so well, with the Spurs losing in a game 7 on the road.

No it didn't. If not for that one bounce to an Allen's 3 in G6, it would have been a much different story.

Of course, it doesn't change the fact that he threw that game away. Again, for a very different situation.

HCA is important but the spurs had shown in the recent past that it is not their highest priority.

One of the most dissapointed I have ever been as a bball fan in RS.(not regarding my teams). All this hype and expectations for a great game to end up in a massacre.

This clinches it - do not want the 5 seed for the Rockets. Let's get the 6th seed and bring on OKC, then S.A.

That's the worst I've seen the Spurs look in years. The unforced turnovers especially. Warriors deserve a lot of credit. With that said...

Exactly. I got the feeling early on in the game that the Spurs deliberately weren't bringing their A-game. Kind of like when a highly-ranked college football team doesn't show all of their cards in the early games...saving some stuff for more important later matchups. I was watching Pop quite a bit during the game...he hardly ever got mad at his team; he was pretty chill the whole time.

I expect to see a much different Spurs team in the later matchups (their next matchup with GS is on March 19th) and especially in the playoffs, if healthy.

Still, I would have much preferred that the Spurs at least show up and try to make this competitive. This was probably the most anticipated matchup of the season so far and I was quite disappointed.

I'd agree if it was any other team, but not the Spurs. The Spurs will get over this quickly and be fine (the Rockets better watch out on Wednesday...). Their veteran leadership is the best in the league.

LOL at the Spurs didnt bring their A game..Did Pop tell everyone he put on Curry to get faked out of their shoes, defenders were spinning around like they were in a blender trying to stay with Steph. I really don't think the Spurs have an answer for Steph, he is too fast for Kawhi to guard and Parker/Mills/Green/anyone sure as hell can't guard him.

Then when the Warriors go small it wont matter if Tim is back, they will have to take him or LA out. This season belongs to the Warriors, just come to grips with that and the ride the Rockets have this season will be much easier.

shouldn't even matter. the road to the nba finals goes through the GSW. Spurs mentality is the same as its always been and they don't care about seeding. If you want to win you have to beat the best no matter when and you have to be able to win on the road period. All the hoping for a certain seed is pointless when your only goal should be a title at this point

i knew the spurs hadnt lost a single since we handed them a loss on chrismas day. but to lose in such a fashion was an embarrassment, regardless. their d looked rockets-like, and too many turnovers. very un-spurs like. disappointing.

Again sadly-How in the hell are the rockets supposed to compete with golden state!!!!!! Damn man they physically assaulted the spurs last night with basic bball screens and backdoor cuts. Draymond held LMA to 5 points with some help smh barring injury the west belongs to Curry

    By exploiting individual matchups.
We have to out offense them. Its possible but Harden has to score 40+.

There is precedent, the Rockets got the 6th seed in 1995 and then proceeded to beat the #3, #2 and #1 teams in the West, and then the #1 team in the East. We're talking about 60 win teams.

Love it! :D ...30 point really?..Even if Duncan had played, Warriors would not have lost last night's game. Warriors were focused and determined to defend their home court and crown last night.

NBA [fans/media] are out of excuses.

    If the Cavs were healthy!
If the Warriors had to face a "real team" during their run! They lucked out not having to face San Antonio or Los Angeles!
But the Warriors got lucky last year!
But this was just a one time thing! They weren't really that good!
Put an asterisk by their title!
They have to repeat to make the first one really count!

    Just enjoy the show. :)

Enjoy? That's what I was trying to do J.R. But instead of a show I got a snoozefest and switched it off pretty soon and went to try to sleep. To watch a show you must watch some kind of competition.

This is was horrible and I hope and believe that the Spurs will appear better in the next match vs GSW.

I enjoyed every bit of it. Put an asterisk on their title last year that if all teams were healthy, Warriors would STILL have won. I said it last year after the finals and I stand still stand by it.

    warriors are amazing...

why all the hate on curry.. if he was on the rockets people would love him.. also trying to be unbiased as I can, Curry is a much more likeable guy than harden.. doesn't trash talk, puts in 100% all the time, plays team ball, doesn't pout and become lazy on defense.. doesn't say stupid crap like how he's the real mvp.. these two are not even close to be on the same level now..

I expected the Warriors to blow out the Spurs last night. There was too much hype for that game, and it was the Warriors that wanted to set the tone against the Spurs. But like every major foe the Spurs have faced, they will be ready at their house. The Spurs will blowout the Warriors at San Antonio. Last night's game and the way the Spurs played defense(lack of) against Curry/Green will NOT happen again. Pop is too smart of a coach to let Curry just throw bombs from 50 ft out... Secondly, when Shawn Livingston is torching the team's second unit, the Spurs really had problems. Overall that was definitely a bad game, and the Spurs had a season high in TO's.

I have come to realize that every time I count out the Spurts, they just find a way to get it done. The Warriors will be no different.

All that being said, I dont think there is a team in the NBA that can beat the Warriors 4 times in a 7 game series. Last year's title, gave the entire team confidence. When your team's bench/scrubs play like allstars...they just become hard to beat. They are a perfect blend of a modified Triangle mixed with excellent defenders in their primes combined with elite level shooters.
