What's worse is they just seem to be deaf? Remember this? <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/onJBMQlMlIo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Yeah, this was the time when everyone wanted Roman to win. Now now, I know WWE can't just decided on the fly right then and there...but the problem is that they thought that this was the time to push an old and returning part time wrestler...instead of someone up and coming or at least someone on the main roster. WWE did though respond to that and put Bryan in the main event...and then last year they tried to shove Reigns down our throats and instead went with Rollins at Mania. So I guess lets see where they go with this
That may be the biggest main roster pop I've heard for a woman in a long time. I was really hoping they put the belt on someone unexpected, but certainly wasn't surprised.
Oh and AJ Styles is the truth. Wrestling sells if they give it a chance, I really hope they give him a legit main event push.
I think Triple H winning was the logical thing... I mean it was clear the storyline was going to be Roman vs whoever and Triple H has the longest history with him. Plus they have to spread out some of the other top talents to build a full card. WM 32 card HHH - Roman Lesnar - Wyatts Owens - Zayn Ambrose - Styles? Y2J - Balor (with Balor Club) New Day - Dudleys - Usos Charlotte - Paige - Becky - Sasha (in either a 4 way or even better split into two matches) Maybe a Randy Orton return against (Sheamus or anyone from the LON. Kalisto - Neville - Stardust - Bo Dallas (pre show match lol)
Kalisto is a curious case also. Now that he's won it back do they keep it on him or does it bounce back yet again to Del Rio? That match was hilarious btw. Botchamania will have a field day with it.
I enjoyed it probably in part because of how much the crowd was into it. Hilarious that 2nd biggest pop of the night was probably HHH eliminating Roman. I'm gonna be incredibly annoyed if they keep teasing the Styles clash without a payoff. It's injured a few guys in Japan and I don't think he'll be allowed to use it, but constantly teasing it is worse. Even when it was down to Dean and HHH I thought it was possible that Dean could win because a Roman-HHH feud doesn't need the title involved anyways. Then I remembered that Dean was IC champ still so that was a no go. Though it doesn't beat Bryan vs the Wyatts in 2013 or the triple threat in 2014, this rumble was nowhere as crappy as the last two rumbles.
I like how you complained about the booking with all your pretentious little smart mark quips but ended it with how you wish the Rumble ended with Ambrose voluntarily eliminating himself. That's really exciting..you could book WCW to the ground in 2001.
Here's a somewhat better capture of the Styles debut. On the broadcast I was scratching my head regarding the blue lights and unknown music, and the camera refused to cut to the titantron which had a cool "I"-"I am"-"I am phenomenal" sequence for the reveal. Instead we got a 10 second closeup of Roman's facial expressions. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/n8FrpWIWj9o" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I think you guys need to give the writers a chance at least. Styles just debuted at Rumble, give the guy a little time to build up and become a marquee guy. I'm not a WWE guy since what got me back to wrestling was non wwe stuff. If you don't like the direction WWE is going, there's plenty of promotions out there including indies that is way better than WWE at the moment. NJPW is one of them.
I thought the same thing, when I heard the music, I was waiting for the Titan Tron shot, but instead we got Roman.... That pop was outstanding thanks for posting the vid
I will give them credit for keeping the crowd in it this year (they learned their lessons from last couple of years). KO to eliminate Styles was the right choice (perfect heat for the guy that wants all possible heat)...and to bring in Zayn right afterwards to keep the crowd happy was perfect timing. Then when Zayn is taken out they bring out Brock. Just gotta give some props to them learning how to keep the crowd invested in somebody. Ambrose came out looking like a million bucks last night from a hard fought Last Man Standing match to keep the IC title to the final 2 in the rumble.
Its so weird how they had Brock eliminated by people that had been eliminated already and act like that's legit. I would be able to accept it if the Wyatts beat him down and then Bray himself threw him over...whatever They are going to have to have something more then Reigns vs HHH as the main even at Mania. I feel a Triple Threat or Fatal Four Way coming. But will no doubt get to see another epic HHH ring entrance for Mania. Who does Ambrose feud with now? Owens seems to have beef with everyone so that could be a future Fatal Four way. Dean - Owens- AJ Styles - Zayn Fastlane should be interesting
Thats what I thought was going to happen where Heyman came out after HHH won it stating Brock was still legal since he was eliminated by wrestlers who themselves were no longer legal so his elimination should not have counted according to the official rumble rules etc. i am not too big on HHH holding the title again - the booking has had its ups and downs but its feels more down of late. I am not too big on reigns I really like Rollins and Ambrose a lot more. WWE lost a lot with Daniel Bryan, but its a bit annoying they have so much talent right now but they have no idea what to do with it. This is what kills me about them being such a huge juggernaut and a virtual monopoly. To me WWF was at its best during the attitude era (not because of just the bra/panties matches) but because WCW was putting out amazing matches themselves and kept having to push the creative team at WWF. The hardcore matches and violence was toned down since then as well - while I am all for wrestler safety and all -- we're watching something that is built off of fighting. Owens/Ambrose was by far the best fight of the night (at least to me) and they need more fights like that one. One thing though I dont necessarily blame the WWF team for being so bland with their booking and writing. They know they dont need to do much and they are still making a **** ton of money so why try to do anything to risk messing up a cash cow?
It's weird that Fastlane will be a more of a setup than Royal Rumble will be just hope WM32 will be awesome just because I'll be there for this one
AJs pop was insane, I hope he gets a big reaction on Raw tonight as well. His t-shirt sold out within hours last night.
I think the Brock Lesnar thing is going to come into play in the title but at Wrestlemania. I could see Heyman raising a stink about Brock being illegally eliminated. Brock feuds with the Wyatts through Fast lane (where Bray ultimately loses again), and then Brock weasels his way into a Triple Threat match for the title at Wrestlemania. That would actually make Reigns look much better if he comes out on top.
Although, I actually think it would be cool if Lesnar came out tonight and agreed to face Triple H for the title right now. That would be very interesting, to me.
Yup and Yup Brock needs to be in the final Main Event at WrestleMania. Right now he is the biggest draw to me and him and Bray could put on a good show at Mania but he should be the headliner
