this front office has consistently lied about the extent of player injuries going back decades now. i'd believe our longtime posters over the front office anyday
I knew it!! D-Mo is history guys, no way we can count on him being so injury prone...it's time to move on.
So have people on this site......there is not truth but the truth.....the only one I think has any cred in this thread is codman - so until he says...OUT, I am gonna hold out hope. DD
To me, I'll have to hear it from an actual official source before I believe it. Like I said earlier, the only reason you'd shut him down for the season in January is if the initial surgery failed and had to be done again and that's pretty rare.
guys don't make a big deal outta this now, DD's gettin up there in age and senility and all but he's still our boy
People need to stop lying about the minutes and the opportunity DMo got from McHale. DMo played in 44 games as a rookie. He averaged 12 minutes per game. He started 14 games. McHale kept giving him opportunities to play that year, but he just wasn't very good. The Rockets were trying to win games and make the playoffs. We had other players on that team like Patterson, Morris, and Delfino that deserved more time than a rookie that wasn't playing very well. TJones got half as many minutes as DMo that year. DMo's minutes increased to over 15 minutes per game his second year although his performance was still poor. McHale was trying to use him, but DMo still wasn't very good. Finally in his third season everything clicked for DMo. DMo would have played much more his first two seasons if his performance had warranted it. The Rockets were trying to win games.
so you want to re-word the front office not telling the truth about player injuries to "strategic" as opposed to "lies".......this is almost as pointless as DD saying "shut it down" and "smoove was needed" is not definitive in any way
I can't remember the last time codman or doc rocket were right about anything. I hope that trend continues. But then again the DD curse is on D-Mo so he's probably done.
i don't know all of codman's calls, and i'm sure there were some misses for sure, but he was definitely right about hamilton, thornton, and smith (meaning the recent acquisition)
Well Smith was obvious, the other two were good calls. That said, you have to take into consideration possible reasons why DMo would have to "shut it down" for the season and since the only real reason why that would happen is unlikely, I think the rumor is unlikely false. Someone might have heard something to that effect, I just doubt the accuracy of it.
