i don't believe the outright twisting of the truth that is going on here. Minor procedure = back surgery ...Sad. Not even the troll openlayupwhy3 would say that. You should become a politician.
http://spacecityscoop.com/2015/04/0...y-update-donatas-motiejunas-has-back-surgery/ Just going on what was reported, it was a minor procedure. http://www.spine-health.com/treatme...surgery-risks-complications-and-success-rates Better than 90-95% recovery rate. DD
yeah ok. I guess in comparison with life threatening surgeries it's a minor procedure. An ACL surgery is also a minor procedure.
As DD weighs in here, his words make me picture a shovel. I hear the digging of the grave. Bury DMO next to DLangh. People make references to "minor surgery" I personally have had a discectomy similar to DMO. I had this when I was 23. Excellent surgeon in The Woodlands. I fully recovered. The definition of fully recovered being frequent nerve pinching, soreness, stiffness, numbness in limbs and sometimes slight weakness. The point being that because of how my back is, I will always have issues. This is going down the same road. Anyone that believes Morey and DMO.... LOL. How about last year? This stuff is always shrouded in mystery before it is dropped like a pile of **** on the fans. No timeline=bad.
Maybe you were one of the 5% that never gets healthy, just because it was your experience, does not mean it is the same with DMo. Dwight had a much bigger procedure and he recovered ok, many players have recovered from this.... You are right though it was a mystery as the Rockets were trying to sort out what to do last year, but they have gone on RECORD this year as saying nothing structural just dealing with muscle soreness. You don't do that unless you know. DD
A microdiscectomy is pretty much the most minor back surgery you can have done. In fact, it's often an outpatient procedure. That said, the rehab can be a b**** for athletes because rebuilding core back muscles to where they need to be for professional sports takes a lot of time.
Anyone who has had back surgery can say the same. I have a family member who did the same surgery as DMO and suffers from soreness esp when the weather gets cold. Not to mention that you can't predict how the nerves respond. But noo..it's a minor procedure no biggie. It's not a heart transplant after all!
This is what I agree with - and DMo is clearly a hard worker - not saying that all of us typing from our couch aren't but it seems that the Rockets aren't worried about it - so why should we? And I hope all of you guys that have had this surgery or have family members that had it, are able to rehab and get back to full health. I never said TJones was going to be traded - I have no clue - but I am HOPING that DMo gets healthy soon, as he is far and away the best option we have at the PF position. Otherwise some other team is going to swoop him up, and we will lose another good player that developed here. DD
Also, while people can chime in about horror stories from surgeries long ago, I'm not going to put much stock in it. I've read up on this A LOT due to Howard, DMo, and Dekker all having this surgery recently. It's not a career ender or changer by any means. There's a small chance of failure, but any surgery does. Talking about personal anecdote from a long time ago is like telling someone about to have their gallbladder removed about how Andy Warhol died while recovering from having his gallbladder removed in 1987
a acl surgery is a very minor surgery that only lasts half an hour and the patient will recover 100%. No matter that it takes a professional basketball player one year to rehab and one more year to be completely back and some athleticism is never recovered. It's only a minor surgery. No big deal. FOR THE GENERAL POPULATION.
It is almost like people are hoping he is out - just so they are proven right. I mean this guy brings a mismatch on the offensive end in the post every single game, he is a massive weapon a difference maker. They should be cheering him on.....just bizzare..... BTW - my father had this surgery and is better than ever. So that is where a lot of my thoughts come from on this....not that he plays basketball anymore - but he is a tough out on the ping pong table. DD
anyway to finish this joke with all the new doctors here who can predict how the nerves respond just by reading some things on the internet. This Dmo slow recovery time can have serious repercussions for the Rockets cap situation this summer. It's possible he will take the QO which will change a lot of things.
you are right since microdiscectomy is a surgery that affects the core of the body, the spine and nerves and legs. A back surgery is much more dangerous esp for big men. What's your medical background doctor Bobby?
Some people just have all the answers. You can't debate with people like that because they truly believe they know every damn thing.
SMH, it's no shocker that those who are hoping for DMo to be permanently damaged are the same people that kept the Jones bandwagon going. I knew that the Josh Smith trade would make those people a bit crazy but this is ridiculous.
Debating on the internet is a waste of time - when has anyone ever changed someone's OPINION on here. And THAT is all this is anyway, everyone's opinion.....nothing more. Time will be the deciding factor. DD
another politician-doctor. You and DD would do an excellent job running for some office. Twisting truth : check Misinformation: check Personal attacks out of subject when cornered : check Agenda: check
Says the guy with the user name Malakas - which fits. Here is the definition of what it means..... http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=MALAKA&page=2 All of his posts fit perfectly into that. DD
