All those wide-open corner threes, c/o JSmoove collapsing the entire Bucks' D and kicking out, looked mighty nice. Looked like last year. Finally!
Iv been saying that's what this offense/team was missing all year, yet no one listened. Makes everyone including harden look like a better player by having dose snd passing from the paint, dmo could have provided that but he's been hurt and he's still not quite as Good as smoove. Harden is about to go on a tear and look like last years Harden. Guaranteed!!!
See, this is the thing. People want us to trade players like Lawson, Brewer, or Jones. But, it doesn't help the team if we don't get a player back that is a better player, or is a better fit than what we are giving up. Those kind of trades may be hard to find. Josh is a big addition, because we can all see that we have been missing a playmaker at the forward positions. This is where we really miss DMo, and Parsons, because they are better passers and playmakers than Ariza, and Jones. In regard to Brewer, I think it's important to remember why we signed him over the summer. We were pretty happy with what he gave us last season. Sometimes Brewer tries to do too much. I think he can return to form if paired with the right players. Maybe bringing back Josh will help Brewer return to form. Jones is probably the most polarizing player here at ClutchFans. He has great games and he has terrible games. Seems like it's feast or famine with Jones. This is the thing, about half the players in the league are like Jones. Not consistently good, but not consistently bad either. Jones has great value to us on those good nights, so I don't see him being traded unless we get someone back that is more skilled, or a better fit. I think Morey is perfectly willing to allow Jones walk away this summer for nothing, in return for what he can give us over the next few months. I think Les and Morey are going to do everything they can to win THIS SEASON. Finally, I haven't given up on Lawson. He seems like he's doing a better job of fitting in with this team. It seems like he should be really good with our second unit, so it's strange he hasn't done better. I wouldn't be shocked to see Lawson traded for a player that is mainly a distributor and a defensive specialist.
I just don't think Lawson and Brewer fit on this team. I know peo Let plane Harden for Lawson's poor play ( which is funny by the way ) but Lawson's mentality isn't the same he's never aggressive with the ball. We are half way done with the season and we're still waiting for TY to show up. I don't think he's ever going to. As for Brewer I neve thought he was a good fit. He's a very poor 3 pt shooter and is often a liability on the defensive end. I don't think Jones or Brew would be missed if they were traded.
I was at a bar and it was so loud! I was mad because I wanted to hear if the crowd let smith hear the appreciation to have him back when he first came in? Also what did bull and Bill say? O well maybe there will be a replay on today
that "Rockets 2015-16 Download Links" Thread also has a streaming option. I just watched the game an hour ago - no download. Different question - As for why Brew and Terry started, someone pointed out the Rockets are one of the worst 2nd quarter teams in the league. When an obvious stat is glaring you in the face, it's good for JBB to mix things up. Hell, let the guys who are in there giving up the lead start the game since we usually start strong anyway. We'll see what he comes up with when Dwight comes back. Smoove is a whole new variable.
.@patbev21 went thru practice. @DwightHoward did not. @patbev21 says he will play against the Mavericks Sunday afternoon. JB Bickerstaff says "there's a hope, there's a small possibility" @DwightHoward will play Sunday against the Mavericks. — @MarkBermanFox26
Despite all the missed shots Smith was such a positive in the game passing, defense, rebounding, ball handling so glad to have him back. Howard was missed terribly seemed like the Bucks had about 50 dunks. They also seem to have an entire roster of 6'10 guys with 7'5 wingspans. They need a playmaking PG add Lawson to the Bucks and let him run the offense and they would be great. Also Lawson continues to look better, hit some shots, made some drives. Brewer is beginning to find his groove and he and Smith should elevate each other. Having Smith back makes this team rediculously deep. Writing is on the wall for at least one of Jones and Dmo. Bundling the two together for a true starting PF with Smith and Capela taking the rest of the front court minutes makes sense to me.
One of the main reasons I missed Josh was the fact that we ran so many pick and rolls. Teams double Harden off every pick and roll, forcing Harden to pass it to our big that set the puck. Up until last night this was Howard, Capela, and Jobes. None of them know how to accurately make that next key pass to free open a shooter and make teams pay for doubling Harden. Smith thrives at this. As you saw during the playoffs, the alley oops and back door cuts to Brew. We now have an intelligent passer out of that pick and roll to make teams pay. This is what made me excited about getting Josh back.
Clippers might regret sending Smith back to the Rockets. Their fans will burn down Staples if the Rox down them again in the playoffs...long ways from this being a reality but it's out there
He also seemed to get a bad rep about being a selfish player - doesn't seem that way at all on this team and is a more than willing passer - players also seem to be excited to have him back. He will still take ill-advised shots, air-ball 3's, miss lay-ups, but if at the end of the day brings positivity back to the locker room, and Rockets are winning games - cant ask for much else.
The lack of ball movement at times is all on the coaches and Harden, just no plan other than pass it around and of course Harden is away from the play unless he gets it, same as T-mac...also, what's up with the fake defense where Harden runs out to a 3pt shooter but instead of committing to the defense he just jumps and already is on his way to the other side of the court in case of a fast break.
