The Warriors have by far the most talented roster in the NBA. They have 3 all stars, multiple playmakers/defenders and 7 different players shooting 40% or above from 3. We're miles behind in terms of talent so yeah, coaching does indeed matter. It's the only way to make up the vast gap in talent.
Fuggen great... get back Smoove for half the price for nothing. He provides rebounding, rim protection, passing. Everything Jones ain't. LOL. I thought this year Jones and DMo were gonna hold the fort down. Harrell's played better than both of em. Glad to have a serviceable PF who can actually play D.
Golden State won't be scared like now if under coached by Mark Jackson. If you think it has nothing to do with the coach, you are an idiot.
I'm so happy for josh smith... he is an incredible player if you give him the opportunity to let him be himself... every team he was with besides us tried to mold him into the player they wanted him to be... as an organization we let him be free and use his skills to the best of his talent... there is a reason why he was immediately so successful here the minute he returned... we don't mind the few bad shots he takes because his intangibles overcome those mistakes he makes
Watching the game the Josh Smith trade is just the shot in the arm the Rox needed, honestly I've been reflecting on why the Rox have lost the last couple of games and the simple reason is D, when Dwight sits down the Rox get abused on D by the opponent. Remember when we won all the games with Lawson out? It was because when he was out Bev was balling out of his mind, playing great annoying D and hitting his 3 at 40+%. When Lawson came back it was also when Bev rolled his ankle, we really shouldn't be playing 2 defenseless pgs in the game along with defenseless PFs (Terry, Lawson and TJones). At least with Smith back in the bench we finally have some shotblocking presence when Capela/Dwight sits down. Once Dwight and Bev heal up we should be looking like the team who won 2nd seed last year. Finally I can see the light LOL. Now if we can only trade Brewer or Lawson for someone better....
Wow awesome statline from Josh and of course he goes 1-10, but it's totally worth it when you do everything else well. Brewer on the other hand...why did Brew & Terry start though, seems very weird. Any way, hope this gives this group the confidence, defensive mentality and ball movement we sorely needed.
We've got 4 stars, 1 x-factor, 2 defensive beasts, a legendary 3 point shooter and a bunch of talented young guys. Our guys just don't know how to utilize each other to maximum efficiency. And we don't have a coach who could come up with a way to do that. That's what the Warriors have with Kerr.
The reason Brew and Terry started last night was because of the one thing everyone always complain about with this team "COACHING" I think it was pretty smart of JB to realize with Howard out and the length of the Bucks we would head into this game with the bombs away mentality. That would be why (plus the addition of three happy Smoove) we shot more three's in the game (44) than any game this season. And it worked.
Kerr has certainly made a difference for the Warriors, but one thing that gets overlooked is the rise of Draymond Green. When Mark Jackson was coaching, David Lee was their PF. When Kerr came last season, Draymond Green had gotten really good, and the injury to David Lee gave Draymond a chance to shine in big minutes. They were already a 51 win team under Mark Jackson that got to the second round and was competitive. Add in another all-star in Draymond Green (and add in the fact that he's a perfect fit), and they would have won a lot more games even under Mark Jackson. But Kerr and his staff did help to open up the offense and get their best shooters open looks in their spots. So he certainly did help the team reach their potential.
How bout keeping Lawson so he can throw lobs to Jsmith and PNR's..Lawson has been playing well as of late. Rox learning how to use him finally/hopefully and Harden had a crazy triple double alongside Lawson not Beverly. Maybe Lawson finally has gotten over his head case drama...we shall see and yea I agree...if we can get everyone back healthy it may get interesting. Only issue I got is can JB improve as a head coach on the fly with his timeouts and proper subs on time or not
Smith needs to be playing 30min a game. His playmaking is to vauluable to only be giving him 20 or so. Howard, Capella, and pretty much all our shooters could really Benifit from his playmaking down low Jones and Bev should start but Ty/Smith should get more PT and definitely be the ones closing out the game
J Smoove makes TJ better. 8 boards, 14 Pts, 4 blocks. Changing the momentum of the game with his hustle. Like blocking at 1 end then out running everyone and past everyone to get the pass for a slam dunk.
Somethings are beyond the Stat Sheet sometimes .. the Eye Ball Test is accurate you cannot explain it . .. . you just have to go with the flow That is .. . JSmoove Rocket River
Draymond became what he is because of guidance and coaching and putting him in a situation where he can do what he does best. On the Rockets he'd never become the player he is. The four stars I was referring to are Harden, Howard, Lawson and Smith, these last two were certainly stars when their teams were using them a certain way. Just as if you put Thompson and Green on some different teams they wouldn't look like stars. I'm pretty sure on some teams even Curry wouldn't look like a star. All I'm trying to say is the talent is there with this team, they just need to utilize it better. That's why we need a coach with a clear vision on how to use the players we have to maximum efficiency.
