Lol Jones thinking he'll still see the court. But really, I hope not. :(

What chemistry? Josh smith helps our chemistry. He works with Dwight the best.

Jones has to be on his way out now, unless Dmo is way worst than anyone on the Rockets have said he is.

Could this be the "Hey, Dwight stay in Houston because we have your best friend again!" move?

Why do the Rockets need to match last years win total?

If they play well in the second half they can get to 47-48 wins.

I personally don't especially believe in this team; but if they play marginally better they will be 4-5 seed.

I can't believe the amount of dumbass idiocy in this post. He left us in the first place. This mess was definitely on Smith.

    Fixed it for you.

It does help us on the perimeter because Smith will actually hedge off the pick and roll, which Howard and Jones simply refuse to do. The perimeter defense has been bad, but it hasn't all been the perimeter guys.

They may have 0 chance of winning a championship but J Smith is enough to screw the clippers in the playoffs again.

Isn't Josh Smith like a mentally handicapped version of Draymond Green?

It will also help interior defense. I, for one, am glad we brought the Clipper killer back. I'm sure Dwight is too.

Question is: is Harden ok with this Smoove move?

Nah he is a version of Green who doesn't realize his own limitations.

Smith was getting no play on a team that is 6 games better than the Rockets. They could have traded him for a bag of potato chips and still come out ahead.

How is this going to "screw' the Clippers?

Acquiring Josh Smith does NOT necessarily mean that the Rockets are looking to trade Terrence Jones or Donatas Motiejunas.

Because Smith left the Rockets as a free agent last summer, he is not eligible for Early Bird rights with Houston. The Rockets will (once again) only have Non-Bird rights to Smith, meaning that the most they can offer him in free agency this summer (assuming they are not using cap room to re-sign him) is about $1.86 million. That, or they'd have to use a salary cap exception on him (MLE? Room Exception?).

So, if Smith blows up in Houston again (or is even just halfway decent) and is worthy of contract offers from other teams in excess of $2 million, the Rockets will not have the same flexibility to re-sign Smith that they'll have with Jones and D-Mo in restricted free agency.

Just something to consider before jumping to conclusions.

I freakin LOVE J SMOOVE. His defensive presence will be a huge upgrade for us, his transition defense was superb last yr. He's capable of getting in good position & chasing from behind to get blocks, not to mention he's one of the best passing big men in the league. Morey still needs to make another move to add a knock-down shooter hopefully Anderson, but this was a great start.

Smith deserves a hero's welcome back. I expect nothing short of a rousing standing ovation.

His performance against the Mavs last year was one of the most dominant performances in Rockets playoff history. If it wasn't for Smith that series would've been a lot closer.

Inserting Smith into the starting lineup against the Clips completely changed the complexion of the series. His defense on Blake and clutch shot after clutch play will never be forgotten.

Can't believe the Clippers literally gave him back to us after what he did to them. Seems like the Clippers like getting punked whether it's by us or self inflicted.

Shocked the Clippers let him come back to Houston for basically nothing. Looks like they did him a solid allowing him to come to a rival.
