Rockets re-acquire Josh Smith in trade with Clippers

Rockets have to get 5th or 6th seed...We can beat Thunder or Clippers.

 

get to the 5th seed and get home court against the Clippers.......would be a dream come true

and beat them in the exact same manner... that would be too much

I think one thing I worry about is how JB integrates Smith. McHale did a wonderful job of getting Smith to practice his 3 pointer after practice and make smarter badketball decisions. I am not sure if JB can do the same.

on the other hand, the same can be said about JS though

 

We are 1-1 on acquiring players that slap box

 

The reality is this doesn't help us all that much on the perimeter. We need Harden to play like he did last year, and we need to SOMEHOW get Lawson going.

Hopefully the bench finally can produce consistently with another solid acquisition.

 

i'm not over rating him, i just know what he brings to the table

This guy did not play one playoff game for Rockets.

He is almost injured every season.

 

i wonder if we could bring back mchale, since we are bringing people back. Might as well now. Is it even possible? lol

 

Rockets need Dmo to get to the promise land. He's our 3rd best player when healthy!

 

Realistically, this trade helps us but not that much. We are sitting at 500 and have been disappointing all season long. We aren't suddenly Western Conference Favorites or anything like that at all. While I would expect us to improve, it seems like it will take more than just adding Josh Smith for us to truly turn the corner.

That said, he should help us with our frontcourt depth when we think about how many injuries we have. He should help us with our interior defense and rebounding, both of which have been weaknesses this year. He will add another playmaker to our team. And we basically gave up nothing. He makes Jones even more expendable if a deal materializes by the trade deadline. How could anyone not like this?
