    "People in Oregon know me as a basketball player,'' Robinson, who played eight years with the Portland Trail Blazers, told the Portland Business Journal. "But I want to distill the stigma around cannabis, the misperception that athletes and cannabis are incompatible.''

    "When you talk about guys playing a professional level, there's a lot of physical and mental stress that comes with that,'' he said. "To have something available to you that has health benefits, I don't see the issue with it myself.''

    I big part of me wants to legalize weed just so all of the potheads will shut the f**k up about it.

    A much more valid line of reasoning than legalizing it so young adults don't have a criminal record that shunts them from voting, receiving financial aid, getting a job, etc etc.

    But in truth, having played 5A basketball in highschool, and being around a ton of basketball guys who went on to play competitive ball in college and the pros, I can tell you the majority of basketball players light up on occasion. They are some of the best athletes in the world, so it just goes to show you that the stigma of potheads being couch potatoes isn't necessary a side effect of use.
