I still think those home whites with the smaller star (the one the big unit is wearing) are our best uni's to date, love those. Didn't care for the big gold star as much, the road uniform would have looked great without it.

I think we might be unveiling a Friday night jersey. Just looking at the schedule, those games are highlighted in orange (I know they do fireworks on Fridays too).

You don't think the lettering is too big? Like way too big?

Wouldn't mind it as long as they somehow got an H in the star...also doesn't help that the open star is now some sort of gang sign or something. But it should never have been changed (or gotten rid of) to begin with.

I like that one the best of the 90s logo, but my favorites are our current unis.

Uh... how did this mustache not get as much notary as Bag's and the goatee? That thing is dirtier that Moises Alou's hands.

Not really, it was a little flashy, without being too ostentatious. Our name is the Astros, it was our only jersey that felt futuristic and "outer space" like.

I do agree that the H-Star is the only Astros hat, it should always have been our hat, you can change the jersey and keep that. I also love our current uniforms.

Gotta assume the hat will stay the same for the rest of time, now.

I have to hand it to them: even though I prefer the current/original forms, they've done a great job throughout. Each iteration has been pretty cool.

They should give the Rockets and Texans some much-needed help. I still can't believe the Rockets haven't moved on from the current logo. It's a joke.

Agreed... I guess it would probably fit better (if they used it today) if MMP wasn't so damn traditional looking (which I like). Maybe if they had built it like the Marlins stadium (which I don't really like), it would fit the futuristic look better.

But in the end, going as traditional as possible never fails... in any major sport. The Rockets jersey/logo is awful (and getting more and more dated by the season)... it was a quick-fix change in response to the worser pinstripes-pajamas, and also to appease the PRC.

lol...it looks like someone photoshopped eyebrows on his upper lip.

Those are definitely eyebrows, not a mustache.

If Cespedes ends up signing with the Nats, I wonder if we could make a run at Ben Revere. Good contact hitter with two more years of team control.

Heard a few people working in Crawford telling me there are Ryan Braun discussions.... with money coming back to Houston.

BABIP isn't random chance. I think approach really factors into the kinds of hit/non-hits the player generates. I doubt anyone would argue that last years Astros had an extremely aggressive approach. That likely produced more fly outs than line drive singles.

Gattis saw a sharp decrease in flyball percentage, and sharp increase in groundball percentage. His line-drive % was slightly up. He generated less hard contact.

Valbuena's percentages stayed relatively flat, but saw a huge decrease in BABIP.

Hm...would be a very intriguing move. We'd have him through 2020, ages 32-36. Wonder what we'd give up and how much $ MIL would pitch in. He'd essentially be a 5y/105MM deal if we acquired him this offseason, if MIL didnt pay anything.

very interesting. At 5 yrs, at his age, with his PED history, and with his injuries recently--BUT coming off a good year, and in today's psychotic FA market.. I would probably need half the contract covered at an absolute minimum. And would prefer about 60% covered. If we're sending a medium prospect back as well, make it 70%.

But at that level, I think it'd be a worthwhile investment.

Milwaukee is not going trade Braun and $70MM to get a medium prospect.

Braun and $10-15M for (1)B+ and (2) B-/C+ prospects is more like it.

Sooooo......Braun has played left and right. Does he come in and Springer goes? Or, would it be 4 guys to play 3 positions? Or DH? The possibilities are intriguing.
