Remember when he was a clear upgrade over Parsons? Good times.

Can you get us Kawhi Leonard or Paul George without giving up Harden?

Ariza is still pretty good in the playoffs

If Ariza is playing pf then you know your team is screwed and freakin' undermanned. He was extremely effective guarding wing players and the perimiter but to have him cover pf's is a freaking JOKE! He is exactly the player we need next to Harden. What we need is for him not to play 43 minutes a game so he can play both ends of the floor. We also need to get a pf so we aren't destroying this guy! Guys like Ariza and Battier are guys that help championship teams. We need Harden to pick up his game that is the main concern.

Count me on board, we should have traded or signed a very good PF years ago....right after Yao Ming retired (I think it was 2012?)

Yeah except Battier could actually shoot. And could do a little bit with the ball. So not the best comparison. A prime Ron Artest would be amazing

i agree, everyone is point fingers at role players - the probably is the mojo in the locker room is wrong. It shows in the way they played, everyone has tried to be professional about it.

No but the Pistons rookie Johnson would be better than Ariza at this point he can atleast dribble and finish at the rim. Anytime Ariza puts it on the floor u already know he's going to dribble stop about 12 ft from the hoop and either throw it out or shoot a stupid fade away. And his ugly layups in traffic are depressing.

I like Ariza but he's not really a starting SF on a any good team anymore. His contract is good and could be a valuable bench player. But if capela/jones is your starting pfs and Ariza is your SF this is the play your going to get honestly we lucky to be 500.

Morey needs to blow this team up. They're just not getting the job done. Fans alike are just disgusted with this team and rightly so.

I would agree that more often then not he's covering two guys, and you can see the exasperation when he has to do it. As a role player, he generally is consistent. You know exactly what you are going to get. A decent 3 point shooter when open, a guy who drives the lane and can't finish, a long and pretty good defender. He doesn't do anything particularly well. But he does some good things. I think the big missing thing is that you need a role player in his position to go off at least once a week and score 20. And he's really only done that once all season. So I would also agree that while consistent, and only on a slight decline, he's a bench player these days who looks like a starter.

Ariza isn't having a good year, but he's just a small part of our problems. Everybody we played last night except him, Capela, and at times Brewer are terrible defenders. It's hard to judge any one player when the entire system defensively seems to be broken.

Harden,Jones,Harrell,Thronton,Lawson, and Terry aren't just bad defensive players, they are atrocious. You can't play that many bad defensive players and expect to not be bad defensively.

Would still rather have him than Parsons contract. The two players are very comparable in terms of on court impact. Meaning neither player is an impact player, but one of them is being paid like one.

Ariza is least of our problems. He is a good 3 and D player on a very friendly contract

Take him out and our already stinking defense ill be even worse. What do you expect him to do? He has to cover two guys on the perimeter and then cover PF's at times.

We know his limitations on offense. He is an open spot up shooter. Not someone to shoot with 3s off the shot clock left and a defender on his face

    Ariza isn't the problem.

    Ariza isn't the solution.

He needs to go in favor of the solution.

Ariza has to be pissed to be required to fight through screens and watch us switch everything for James. Then run to the other end and watch James hold the ball until the last second before throwing to him for a last minute 3 or ineffective drive. You can see the anguish on his face as Harden refuses to play hard on the defensive end, saving his energy for offense.

qft. since he came here he's had to do way too much. his minutes have been down ssince decmeber but not by much, and still too much for a player of his level.

Per contract $ value is higher. Please don't tell me you think CP was worth the max...he wasn't worth that before his microfracture surgery and certainly isn't now.

meh, we suck and getting tired of watching this team and their half assed effort each night.
