Lawson has literally done nothing wrong. If he is kicked out this squad tonight expect a TON of **** talk which will drive away more FA and make Houston out to be a bad place.

 

I don't think he's being showcased. Other teams know what Lawson can and cannot do. No need to showcase. Also Bev didn't play, so either Lawson or Terry was going to start anyway. Whatever.

 

OJ Mayo is a chucker

Rockets:

Bucks:

Out: Morris and Teletovic

For the Rockets, Brewer and Jones have to go. Brewer doesn't fit this system due to his lack of shooting and Jones is due for a big payday that the Rocket probably don't want to think about in the offseason. I had high hopes for Lawson and he has been better but this is a needed move. We now know that we cannot put a ball dominant player next to James Harden, right now.

Bayless is kinda like getting Jarret Jack-lite, who was a rumored to be a Rocket if he didn't get hurt. He is a tough nosed guard that has the mentality of a SG. He could very easily be finishing games for us.

Mayo is more or less a salary filler at this point but he is the type of player Morey takes a chance on. He could surprise and be a big part of the rotation, if we keep him.

Morris has obviously been linked to us. There were rumors that a deal was set to take place on the 15th when Brewer could be traded. He is a nice stretch PF for us. Honestly, I think Jones is ultimately the better player of the two especially when you add in Morris' attitude problems but paying Morris 8M/year is going to be a lot better than paying Jones his 10-14M/year.

Teletovic is another player linked to us in the past. Good shooter who could be very helpful in situations.

This is a Morey type trade. A part for Morris, who is on a very reasonable deal, every other player is on an expiring player. Morey obviously wants to preserve his 2016 cap space and help this team, and I think this does it.

 

Harden doesn't need a playmaker next to him. Isn't that what lawson is? How has that worked? He needs someone who can defend, shoot the three, and run the offense occasionally (different than a playmaker ). That's Greivis.

I don't like this trade but I have to say this is very well thought out and fair for all teams involved. Good trade and good explaining. Kudos.

no that's also Mayo. A playmaker sg. Except that he can't defend ones. Vasquez can't either.
And Mayo has been in a slump this year but for a good while he was the pointguard because he can also make plays and has good vision.

I have no problem with getting rid of Assquez but a) I don't want to have to watch him then in the Rockets b) I don't want Lawson in the Bucks.

 

I think the best type of guard that fits next to Harden is a combo guard who is score first, play-make second type as well as an adequate defender, someone like George Hill. A pure point like Ty has shown to be useless here.

Interestingly enough the time when Rocket's offense was most dynamic was when Lin was here who has shown some of the attributes mentioned above.

If Rockets continue with a 3-D guard next to Harden the result will never change in the playoffs, teams will shut down Harden and no one else will be able to carry the load and that is how the Rockets will crash and burn every year.
