I'm rolling at the Nets posting an EBITDA of negative 99 million at a time in the league when literally every other team in the league is making money. How is that humanly possible with one of the largest revenue streams in the league?

The people of Brooklyn should all come together and invest in buying the team!!! **** a 401K buy yourself an NBA team. There is 2.592 million people in Brooklyn if each person put $600 of their own money to purchase the team that would buy the team at $1.5 billion....

Serious question, why are we valued more than the Mavs and Miami?

Rockets still have good will with Chinese fans and our local economy is larger than Miami/Dallas?

This'll be a big selling point for the players when the next CBA talks roll around (according to the article it'll be around 2017ish??).

The value of franchises will be much higher by then too, especially if Adam Silver plans to expand with 4 teams in Europe, further opening up that market.

too bad our owner runs the team like a business rather than a passion...

Seriously? Les has done what he can under the league's parameters... the Rockets could easily be the Suns during the Nash-era if he so desired.

Ha - no worries. Ya, I read it wrong - was closer to 5%. As you could probably tell by the fact I am not a millionaire, I'm not very good at managing my finances.

The Chinese fans definitely make a difference, but I have a hard time believing that our local economy matters when the TV money should be similar/better in Dallas/Miami.

On one side you have teams that are recent champions, regularly sell-out AND fill their stadiums while the other side features the specter of CSN Houston and other BS.

Wow this business is booming. Most of the teams went up in value by over 50%, some even doubled in value. Probably already adjusting for that new TV deal, maybe?

But Balmer paid 2B for Clippers even before the deal... We will see how these team values measure up with the real world after Prokhorov sells his. But I'm suspecting these numbers are still quite deflated. It's not just the balance sheet and income statement, there is also a huge value in prestige owning an NBA team.

Anyway, some team would make an IPO, I would definitely buy some stock.

My plan was to buy the Rockets if I won the powerball. Guess I'm settling with a small market NHL team

Should have bought the Pelicans instead and forced a Terrence Jones + fillers for Anthony Davis trade.

Holy crap, how is our revenue and operating income so much greater than Dallas, Miami, Cavs, etc. ?

In fact we are 3rd in the league only behind the Knicks and Lakers!

Tad Brown, you da real MVP
