The guy that had 36pts and 26 rebounds deserved the praise. Harden did nothing

So if Curry goes home after a loss and spends time with his family, that's not improving his basketball either. Why do we care that Harden is at a strip club vs being at home as a family man, neither necessarily improve your basketball skills. Whatever, let him be. I can more about whether he's giving 100% on the court and shows up for practice day in and out.

Have you ever seen MJ or Barkley play this lackadaisical on s consistent basis? Maybe because the rockets have disappointed the whole league

I don't personally care what harden does, but from an athletic preparation standpoint, it DOES make a difference. If he's out at a club, 1:45, that's time he could be sleeping, which a lot of nba players say is difficult to find in the hectic nba season. Sleep is important for recovering after physical activity, and overall, a consistent schedule is very important for peak performance. Harden is nowhere close to his peak physical form as it is (i can say that unequivocally when looking at what he did last year and the fact that he takes so many plays off defense) and the last thing he needs is less sleep and an inconsistent schedule. If you care about Harden's ability to not only give a 100% effort, but a 100% of his BEST effort, then this sort of thing does matter. Now, some guys are just freaks (ala rodman) that could do whatever, consume whatever, and overcome it. But who knows? maybe those guys might have been even better with a sound preparation system. I could give a rats a** about steph curry spending time with his over publicized family, but it does send a signal that his schedule is grounded and he has some sort of timeline that ensures he's at is absolute best for games. Harden just seems egotistical in that he thinks he can do whatever to prepare for games. Hopefully, he'll realize this, but unfortunately, its probably gonna be the hard way

So instead of going to the strip club, Harden went to the hospital and visit the cancer patients and stayed there till 6 AM in the morning and he did it 5 times each week and often late or miss most of the practices.

Will it make you much happier as "A ROCKETS FAN"?

    Stop being a hypocrite.

To be fair, Chuckster was a known partier, especially at Harden's age. But then, he usually left it all on the floor.

And finally, most importantly, he was never a champion, and he was dogged his whole career for not taking good enough care of himself.

Really feel badly for Dwight Howard.

first, the scenario isnt happening. not in a hundred yrs.

second, if he did that, i'd still be quite unhappy.

what's the right thing to do in b/w games for a pro athlete? i dont think that's overly complicated.

the day for an athlete is very different. I remember Jalan Rose saying in one of the grant land videos that 1am for an nba athlete is like a 7pm for a normal person

You actually allude to why NBA players have late sleeping habits.

From an athletic preparation standpoint, your body's rest is best scheduled around your times of performance. NBA players have to perform late at night, 3-4 times a week. Relative to our schedules, they are like shift workers.

People think they must eat dinner before the game or during the game like us. They get out of the stadium after 11pm, and then eat dinner. And like you and I, if they are on a schedule around their work hours, they will have relaxation time, too, after dinner. Getting to sleep at 3 am is only four hours after work.

And then they have to deal with time zones all the time.

Some of them might try to stick to a schedule more similar to us 9-5ers, which causes them to have changing sleep habits constantly, but most just shift their schedules so they sleep close to the same time every night.

During the summer, they can get back to normal hours.

My point is handle your business. Obviously he can't handle it. He plays like he's out of shape and with a bad hangover.

Chuckster carried his team to the finals many times. We are massively underperforming.

no. It will make me mad. I don't watch Harden to be mother Teresa I watch him to bring wins to my team. If his philanthropy gets in the way of his work and he misses practices and he stays until 6 am???then I will be as mad. Actually even more because right now I am not aware of Harden having missed any practices.
It's that I have the very big suspicion that our practices are extremely light.

Is it ideal? No. However, he's a young man and that is his own personal time. I'm more concerned about other things about the team than something like this.

In no way is Will being a Hypocrite...

You took what you wanted to take out that statement instead of reading the entire thing...

What he does on his personal time is his business.. Just like what you do on your personal time is your business..

But when you walk into the office you have work to do... The same with Harden... When he walks on to the court he has work to do..

It's very simple. Your number one criticism as a player is minimal movement (probably runs a total amount of miles per game as an NBA center and he's a guard) on defense and without the ball on offense which can be attributed to being lazy or having **** stamina.

If it's stamina, then you need to work on it. Part of working on stamina is having a full amount of sleep. Any professional athlete with an ounce of responsibility will tell you how vital proper rest is to optimal performance. When you see a player known for **** stamina go out clubbing at 2 in the morning the in middle of an NBA season after a loss, yes it's pretty ****ing fair as fans to **** on that athlete.
