The Love-LeBron lovefest has been loveless, or at least seemingly so; while not working on court. DHo seems set on leaving this summer. IMO the only real destinations for him, ie that he'll 'agree' to re-up in, are Cavs/Knicks/Heat. As for Mozgov, yes he's an FA as is TJo; I'd pay TM ere erring on paying for TJo.
I've been pounding the table for this as a legit option for both teams. The Cavs are closer to competing than we are, and they need better defenders more than they need scorers. Love would also help rehab Brewer's value and revive our fast break. Making this move also sets up some interesting options in 2016 free agency. Drummond, Whiteside, Noah, and Ezeli will all be free agents. We have good pieces to SnT for Drummond or Ezeli (restricted free agents), or we could sign Whiteside or Noah outright. It would not be a hard landing if we lost Dwight and Ariza. We likely wouldn't make the playoffs this year, but that's ok.
Beware the temptation to start and respond to Random Trade Ideas threads...Clutch hath warned us and giveth this thread as all-sucking pacifier, instead... http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=267634
If we trade Dwight, then I would trade Harden also. I would try to surround Love with great young talent that can play defense. Love is under contract for five years, so we would have time for the young talent to develop. And with Love on board, we might be able to attract other star talent.
Umm Id say a big difference is this guy he's pretty good I think his name is um? kyrie Irving? Ya that's the guy. Cmon dude the cavs are stacked the rockets are nothing like them. When we have a kyrie Irving next to harden and a Pf who can rebound and make a layup then we can make a comparison.
Or you just team up love with you know the guy already on the team in harden. What star talent are you going to attract with Kevin freakin love that's better than harden? Some of you guys are rediculous.
The lack of defense between Love and Harden would be outrageous. We'd give up 150 points a game easily.
Guys that compliment Howard at PF: Bosh, Ryan Anderson, Teletovic, K-Love, Channing Frye, Jeff Green. Love can provide space for Mosgov, Capela and Harrell plus give you rebounds. Sure I would do it. I don't think the Rockets want D12 to opt in and I feel Howard wants a new setting.
It's hard to find players that are a good fit with Harden in my opinion. Also, I don't like the idea of Harden and Love trying to play defense at the same time. I was responding to the question "would I trade Dwight for Love". Keep in mind that OKC didn't start Harden with Westbrook and Durant. Trying to find the right combination of players to play with harden is tricky. As I stated, if we traded for Love, I would trade Harden for a huge haul of young talent and then build around Love. I don't think that's ridiculous. I think that is an option that should be considered.
Rockets' fans feeling too much LOVE unfortunately. The guy is severely overrated. Trading Dwight alone for both guys is lopsided as is, but throwing in other players with Dwight is ridiculous.
As Cavs fan I thought this was an interesting topic. I have been thinking along these same lines watching Mozgov struggle and the Cavs interior D be so pitiful this year. I'm not sure if the salaries match but I would be more inclined to go with a Howard/T Jones for Irving/Mozgov and filler trade. From the Cavs perspective, I'd be more inclined to trade Irving than Love simply because the Cavs need someone who can distribute the ball at PG to LeBron, Love and let's say Howard. The Cavs can win with Delly and Mo Williams at PG if they were to get Howard and lock up the defensive end.
That's the whole point IMO. If one could feel reasonably certain that DHo will be back, and not at 4/30, then this discussion has a different flavor. Love being miscast in Lebronville doesn't make him a bum, and his contract going forward is OK. Good, even.
Irving had contributed to the Cavs this season just about the same as Ty Lawson contributed to the Rockets so far. The Cavs has a slightly better bench and the Rox has Dwight, so basically it even out. Stop finding ridiculous excuses for Harden's performance this season.
