So you only look at the points and assists to determine if someone plays well? "Trash" is a relative term. Harden obviously isn't trash compared to, say, Sam Dekker, but he is trash for a supposed All Star and leader of a playoff team. When you're the "best" player on a team, and you are a sieve on defense, while compromising the efficacy of your team's defense, you're trash. When you are the self proclaimed MVP, and you barely move on offense unless you have the ball (and even WHEN you have the ball), while putting up career low FG% and 4.6 TOs a game, then you're trash.

No doubt he's playing worse this year. But let's be realistic.

I think the thing that people are struggling to articulate (i.e. saying things rather extreme) is that he is the single most impactful player on our team. He's (mostly) the reason why win when we win, and why we lose when we lose. And because our team is so frustrating in its loses, it looks like its all him. That doesn't mean he's trash, or he sucks, or whatever.

He's had a ***** half season by his standards, but people are quick to turn their back on him.

Yeah, it's easy to do that when you give zero effort. If he was out there busting his ass and his shots just weren't falling, I would still support him 100%.

Something tells me the strip club experience for a millionaire star athlete is a little different than that of a regular joe.

Same thing happened with Barkley in Philadelphia... almost happened with Hakeem here.

Unfortunately, a change of scene for Harden (with the Rockets actively shopping him), would probably provide the wake-up call he needs (or the proper environment) to get serious about winning in a hurry.

Or, the Rockets could probably go out and get a top-notch coach that demands respect... and can challenge the diva-like tendencies of Harden without fear of backlash/repercussion. So far, only coach who's been able to get the best out of him is coach K... and the Rockets won't be getting him any time soon.

I'm not one that usually complains about this kind of thing... but this is a questionable move by Harden.

There is a time and place for him to go out. Going out after a tough loss at nearly 2 in the morning is not a good look. It's like dude.. you're in the middle of a season right now. There is no reason for you to be going to strip clubs at 2 in the morning.

    Be a professional.

If he had several days off, then that's one thing. But trying to squeeze in some partying at 2 in the morning? It's like dude do you really have to go to the strip club right now? Is it that hard for you to skip this one?

Harden actually credits Tom Thibodeau with resonating with him and getting him to play some defense.

    And he is very available.

That's cool. Give up on him if you feel like it, dude.

That's not how I roll as a fan, but I get why you're upset.

Instead of going this route, let's just stick out the entire season with someone we know is going to fail - and risk losing the coach who very likely could be the sole thing which could turn this team around:confused:

Can you give me a pay-check now Les? I can make idiotic decisions too.

    I'm kinda ok with this

I have a bunch of strip clubs close by my place, but never visited one. Just not into it. If I need naked girls I used them interwebz. I don't understand what new things can you see at a strip club after going there 10-15 times...IMO boring.

Admittedly, I haven't been digging too much into the coaching situation.

But, Thibs is a JVG disciple. I wonder if he's espousing the "i won't take the job of another coach" philosophy that JVG feels strongly about, and will wait until the offseason to take a job.

I've seen a few people state this - which may in fact be the case.

But I don't think Morey or Les are the type of people to be on the phone talking to Thibs on the hush hush about next season while waiting out another 71 games from JB.

It's been rumoured Thibs is linked with the Nets right now.

In most cases, I think getting a coach simply because you need a fit with your best player is a mistake, as most problem players who require that are problems no matter who the coach is... but Harden is just too damn good to give up on (when he's right).

If Thibs, JVG, Rudy T, or the ghosts of Chuck Daly or Red Auerbach are required to make it work... you make it work.
