I still believe if they don't turn it around Les is going to fire Morey, or at the very least limit his power considerably. DD
You mean when we replaced Parsons with Ariza, and then went on to beat Parsons's new team on the way to the Conference Finals? The Rockets are struggling this year for sure, but I'm not sure an injured, overpaid prima donna small forward would solve the problem.
i keep seeing this sentiment posted and there are times, particularly after games like the cavs, where i agree. Then i remember back to something Bullard responded to on the palillo show a few weeks back after a caller had a similar rant and it brings me back to earth: hakeem won his first championship in his 10th SEASON with the rockets. TENTH. and in that period he spent time disgruntled, frustrated, and demanded a trade at one point. hell, jordan didn't win one until his 7th season. in other words - these things often take time. harden is still relatively young and regardless of the effort he seemingly puts out some nights he's still undeniably one of the top 5 talents in the league. there's ZERO chance you get close to equal value if you move him. odds are much greater that you focus your efforts on getting his head right and recapturing the player we had last year than tearing down out of frustration.
Fans are angry and rightfully so...but every single suggestion for change on this board is stupid. We are LOCKED IN for this year. It's like going through the stock market during a depression: as long as you are not going to die in the next 12 months, you HOLD. Morey is a trader and uses market terminology all the time, especially this quote: It's a good quote for life in general. In fact, I like that better than r****d Ball as my sig for the year. Done and done. Facebook quote too? Only time will tell,
OMG, I hope not. Harden is no LeBron. And LeBron was not the boss in Miami. Riley was. He is in Cleveland though just because Cleveland has weak FO. Franchises controlled by star player seldom get good result.
It's nice to hear that there's still a belief in the squad within the organization. I get the feeling they're going to roll with this group and hope we find a way to click on all cylinders.
from the 1929 high the dow didn't make a new high again until 1959.....from the 1966 high it took till 1995.......pull up a chart on the nikkei, and 1989 looks like the summit of mt. fuji
That article was written ****tily enough to be published in the Houston Chronicle. First and last Brian T. Smith article I'll be reading. I could hear Tom Rinaldi's piano in the background.
This. Plus too many people take what has and is coming out of Morey's mouth as gospel. Too many armchair psychologists on this forum, trying to analyze Morey.
TROLOLOLOL... Seriously... you think there's a superstar store Morey went to and picked Harden and Howard over pairing LBJ and Anthony Davis? Seriously... crack is whack...
This is an Olympic summer, yes? It is my hope that benefits JH13 in the most positive of ways. But, sheesh, summer is four seasons away: now 'til ASG. ASG. Run to the p/o's. P/Os. Then...
People forget how good the Rocket's were when we had Dream and Sampson. It's tragic how that team fell apart due to injuries and drug abuse so that window closed quick. Context and timing is everything in pro sports.
Well, apparently, DM still speaks to Barack's home town (still) and there is some affinity towards The Smithsonian. It's so chatty this time of the year. I'm sure he's busy trying to keep the ship floating. JB was the first good move, IMO.
