No, he really couldn't play in the NFL, he was total and complete garbage. I know you wish he wasn't garbage, but he really was. The Titans embarrassed themselves with that pick.

Well of course you can't give ALL of the credit to AD, he was just all of their offense, the defense also deserves a lot of credit. Bridgewater was just along for the ride for the most part.

At some point, Bridgewater might improve to being about the same QB that Alex Smith is, but that's his upside.

That'll happen when Vince Young fans show up.

Half the league had numbers like this. Fitzpatrick went 25/11 with a 7.0 YPA, Hoyer went 18/6 with a 7.2 YPA.

The numbers don't impress me as much in the present day because the NFL has become a passing league.

Watching Mallet and Vince fans argue in a Texans forum is surreal.

It's like listening to Creed and Nickelback fans argue about what good music is.

This just in: JVG says draft 7 QBs in all 7 rounds + sign 3 FA QBs.

Screw Vince Young he's irrelevant but when you have fans that will not accept the reality with the Texans franchise that they failed they gotta cover up by bashing a Vince Young. It's dumb that dude played so what still doesn't change the fact that the texans have failed at the qb position for 13 years.

Texans will sign an RG3 or some vet, plus draft a QB this year round 1 or 2.

McNair hasn't spoke of QB like this since the team's First draft.

A couple of things... 1) Fitzpatrick actually threw 31 TDs; 2) 18 is not 32; 3) only six QBs threw more TDs than Derek Carr last year (two others tied him with 32): a) that's not "half the league"; b) it's fairly elite company (Brady, Eli, Bortles, Palmer, Newton Wilson + Brees and Stafford); c) Carr (along with Bortles - who threw more INTs, BTW), is the far and away least experienced of that group.

What's the likelihood of Drew Brees being available this offseason? I've heard chatters but I don't enough about the NFL salary cap and what not to accurately gauge this possibility.

This is all true and Carr looks great but you can't say for sure that his situation in Houston would have been great for his development. You just never know and can't assume his positive development would have occurred in Houston with Houston fan support.

Payton (rumored to be traded) re-signing (contract extension soon) makes it very unlikely unfortunately. I would have said 100% we had a chance at Brees before the Saints decided to keep Payton.

So it all depended on whether or not Sean Payton stayed as the Saints HC, correct?

Well shucks, it would've been cool to see the possibility of Brees QB-ing for the Texans. Guess, I'll go back to the RGIII train or hope something shakes out in the draft.

Brees, Kaepernick, and Stafford are all likely staying put, which leaves RG3 as the only real viable option to get a veteran quarterback. No matter what, the Texans HAVE to go QB in the 1st or 2nd round.
