I feel ya... about the same tenure myself... I feel for Dwight. i think he's working hard and trying to keep his mouth shut, but I can't see any above average player wanting to play with harden and the whole 'vibe' of this team... :(

You do realize that higher PPP is better right? If you can get .91 PPP, why would you ever want .83? Also, what Dwight Howard is very good at is being the roll man in the pick and roll, IMO they should run that more....but posting Dwight Howard up is usually a bad idea.

Yes, I'm well aware .91 is more than .83... u just keep letting harden jerk off and ignoring Dwight - and good luck ever getting any free agent to ever come to Houston again... talk about shortsighted... lol

A package around Capela for Vucevic + (they also have Frye, Smith,Nicholson). Need more skill up front...Capela is nice, but really isn't a perfect fit for our widow of opportunity, still needs time. Vucevic is entering his prime.

You want them to break up a championship team on their way to breaking the 72-10 record?

Did you watch the finals? And 2 of their 3 losses came with him injured. They're very good without him, but practically unbeatable with him.

I have seen about 5-6 posts from you in the last day talking about Vucevic. Why you think he will fit here? Vucevic can't defend well and there are no whispers or indications that he is available. The available in Orlando is their wings (for a pf). I just can't understand why you have been fixating on Vucevic out of all people ?

Anyway if you want players like Vucevic there are other similar available for little to no assets. But I don't get the fit.

    Only 4 posts! :p

Mainly, because the first two were off topic to the thread, so i posted again where they'd be relevant.

Well, what other similar players are available? Vucevic is a 7 footer, who can shoot, face up, post up, rebound. practically 20 and 10 player. I am worried about the srop in defense from Capela to Vucevic, but this team needs to do something. I gave this roster the benefit of a doubt because of last season, but it's becoming more and more clear that was their best case scenario of a season. They're betting on players going through wave of getting hot , average, and cold too much. Yes, it happens, but we've got to many guys dependent on those stretches. Need skilled guys who can make shots because they can zero in when they want to, not when the math wants to.

We only have Trez and Dmo as guys with similar skills, but one is a rookie and the other is questionable to get over his injury. Vucevic not only brings much needed skills, but can also be a player we can rely on offensively every night.

Centre is not a good position to look for the 2nd scorer. In todays NBA it is just too hard for them to find consistent scoring in the post. Teams just double down and rotate, or you face a long defensive presence every 2nd night.

We need someone at the 1,3 or 4 spot who could potentially average close to 20 if Harden was out for a stretch. It isn't easy to find someone like that. We can't just say 'trade Jones for xxxx'

I would try revisit the (false) Atlanta trade rumour and see if we can ger Horford, Scott and Mack for Howard. Then call Chicago (who are looking for a wing and bench scoring), and see how they like the idea of Brewer + Thornton for Gibson. Solves none of the problems we face, but lets us go to free agency with space to throw cash.

Count me as another who hates this current team. Can't stand to watch them. I hate feeling like this. I want to be excited to watch my Rocket. You know it's bad when Les who never misses games is now missing a lot of games. He never even did this when we were lottery bound. This is a big deal. Harden probably doesn't have long with us. I give him another season.

cant do much this season. need a first option.
mroey wont trade harden or dwight so they can only make lateral moves
i think another 3d wing is the best laterla move this team can make, think about it
rockets needs more defense and ariza plays too many minutes for a role player, avg 35-40 a game since last season.
thats too much for your best wing defender who needs to make threes in crucnh time
i dont think anyone shouldl be playing that many minutes unless they're an all star at least
get someone to split minutes with ariza, bring his minutes avg down to high 20s
if they dont want thornton in the rotation than he can play some 2 when they're not going small

if we can get a pg by trading law then they shoul go for it but not many teams want him.
i'd rather keep him to see if he can turn it around or do something good, which he has lately btw. and his expiring will help in the offseason

other than a backup 3d wing and a pg this tema doesnt need much in terms of role players
since they wont be contenders, i'd also keep jb as coach just to see if he can get to a higher level of coaching with some experience
if they can get a real coach who can actually make this team better and compete every game then obviouls go for it. but dont get one just for the sake of getting one

Are you referring to my comments on vucevic? He's already averaging 20 a game in today's NBA. We're not talking about a center who'd need to expand his game to become our second scorer at 20ppg. He's that guy already..just needs to find chemistry. He can face up too..not just another dwight, with no skills beyond the block. And he shoots 75% FT.

I'm sure a poster said something of the effect earlier but we need a 1A,1B (whether Harden is either doesn't matter to me) with Howard as the clear number 2.If we can nab a 3point shooter at any position would be awesome, oh and Harden must compete on the defensive side of the ball.

The entire team must compete every night .

Morey should be working towards acquiring that third star ....finally .

    Something has to happen.
