Didn't mean an excuse by you. I meant an excuse by JB. Poor play for 6 minutes isn't indicative of the next 20. Guy started slow and never got a chance to even begin heating up. Sure, he might have sucked the rest of the game, but then so did the entire team.

Since December, Lawson unexpectedly has been a good player shooting around 42% FG 34% 3pt. Not great but certainly not awful. And has a POSITIVE plus/minus since then, he hasnt been much a liability.

On the opponent side, Kyrie Irving is all-offense no-D but making it work with a ball-dominant wing player.

Floor matchups aside Lawson needs to be integrated more in these kind of games. This is the reason we got him in the first place.

Lawson setup Capela with 2 easy layups which Capela bricked....he also drove and kicked out to Thorton 2 times which Thorton missed.... so in his 6 minutes...he did his job, he got shots for shooters.... you dont bench him because they are missing. Atleast he didnt turn the ball over 8 times... and start jacking 3's from top of key before the offense is even set

He may have but he could possibly have gotten harden some easy shots maybe to get himself going? I don't know I'm just looking for more dimensions to add to the offense. More ways to get guys going instead of them just ball watching much of the game

Should be getting heavy minutes. It is a travesty that he doesn't.

Coming from the same person who said he didnt want thibs...ur priorites or ur basketball iq is seriously lacking.

You didnt want thibs because he works the players to hard in practice when its obvious that is exactly what this team nneeds in their lackidasical disgusting play.

Anow now you wanna hate on lawson cuz he couldnt produce in 5 min LOL do you actually watch games? he was penetrating with eas and capela missed 2 easy layups...JB is a very bad schematic coach AGAIN we have no system, and again we have no structure or discipline , its getting old and boring, FFS get a Basketball Coach you dumb ****s

The travesty is on Lawson that he isn't playing. He has had half a season already. It isn't early, integration can happen at practice, Lawson needs to show he can fit.

    Obviously he hasn't.

Playing him in garbage time today is just a risk of injury which could sour our chances of being rid of him.It was exciting when we got him, the worrying signs were the alcohol, and the constant fall away of his game over the last years AND the lack of defence.

JB is an idiot... just kissing harden's ass in the hopes that he can keep the job... If he put Lawson in, it would take the ball out of Hardens hands - and we cant have that.... so put Terry in who will stand at the perimeter in case James wants to throw him the ball with 2 seconds left on the clock...

Really wish we could have a coach that would run the TEAM instead of just placating Harden... smh...

6 mints isn't enough to get rythem , and I also do think harden and lament can't coexist

The funny part is that last year, we plotted Smith into the Starting line, fail, and this year we did the exact same thing with Lawson, expecting a different result, fail. Players need adjustment time. Did we learn nothing?

Sorry but whatever integration happens in practice isn't the same as getting that done in real game situations. And it's not that close. Each game has it's own situations and then the playoffs come around which is a totally different animal. Whatever the reason is if the rockets are going to make things work he needs to be in the game. Practice is what it is. Just practice

Two completely different players. One being a true pg who is fully capable of handling that responsibility with playmaking being his #1 strength, something much needed and requested by Houston's best player

As long as Harden continues to be a me first player, an egotistical maniac, a selfish guy who refuses to play off the ball, move off the bal, make cuts etc this team will not come close to the championship

What Harden fails to realize is without another ball handler he will continue to have these awful shooting, high TO games and the team will lose handily against the good teams

This team will only come close to contention if Laawson is fully integrated playing alongside Harden as the primary ball handler

I think he should play every minute that Harden doesn't.

Together it doesn't work while Harden is going through whatever hes going through

Aside from the fact JBB has implemented Harden off the ball plays more than McHale, you can't just decide by yourself that you are going to start making cuts and moving off the ball. Movement has to be within system...or you are likely to bust a play and cause turnovers/bad shots by your selfish movement to try to get the ball. Cuts to get the ball can be as selfish as anything else. The big man equivalent would be a big standing in the post demanding the ball when the team was trying to run something else.

And it's not like Lawson has ever been in a system where he ran ball movement. He's not that type of PG.

I suppose what you are saying is Harden can demand from the coach a different system to deemphasize him as playmaker??? Maybe I give too much weight to little things, but I feel we are seeing some of that more and more.
