I could see a TJ-less 2 for 1 trade or 1 for a 2nd rounder to clear a roster spot to sign Raphiael, though?
Maybe you just have a false impression of what Jones does. Harrell is the better defender and he plays with a lot more energy. Jones shoots 3's at a better clip, but still isn't reliable with them. That's the major differences between them. They are both just run of the mill athletic tweeners but Harrell is still new enough to the league that he might develop into more, we've already seen that Jones won't.
While I agree Jones is better than Harrell at this moment, it's clear Harrell is going to be better than him in two years time.
i'm afraid brewer has negative trade value. it would take us giving up a solid piece like a rookie contract or a pick, just to find a taker. i think the rockets are better off keeping him rather than selling low. jones, on the other hand, morey doesn't want to pay him this summer. he'll be on the move.
People tend to hate you for your constant bashing on Jones yet when I say the same things you do about the scrub, I get praise. We share similar views m8
What kind of player with that combo of skill, athleticism, capability of knocking down a midrange jumper, and energy doesn't have a decent career? He's already provided good PT for us. Give him time.
except the only thing we've seen in athleticism and energy. none of the rest have been shown to be an ability to be relied upon in an actual course of a game. to say hes clearly going to be better than TJ in 2 years is a huge guess
1 more day to be able to trade Brew that's what I'm counting. Though I'm almost certain I will be dissapointed because Brewer needs a significant sweetener to get rid of. What a horrible horrible contract.
<iframe width="854" height="480" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/HZjFo4sNQyo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> As you can see around the 1:00 mark, Harrell hits Speights with a beautiful up and under, which he's done multiple times this season. That = skill&footwork, something many big men tend to lack. <iframe width="854" height="480" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/fa0sBrs47uA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> To start out the video here, he shows yet again the post moves I've been talking about. Then, the next clip, he blocks Ryan Anderson from behind. Following that clip is yet another great post move by Harrell. And if you have yet to see Harrell hit some jumpers, I only recall him taking 4 and making 3. But seeing his college games he was capable of hitting college range 3's.
I wouldn't mind trading Terrence Jones and Ty Lawson for a productive above average player in return. But we can't trade Brewer! At this point we wouldn't be getting enough for him in return. His experience and style of play is a great option to have in the playoffs should we need it.
I like how only Terrence is considered inconsistent yet you can say that about just about every player on this team, there's a reason why this team is 20-19 and it's not because of only T.Jones being inconsistent, yet the myopic T. Jones bashing continues even after he puts up a monster game... smh
This part has nothing to do with the Brewer deadline, though, unless Morey needs Brewer for salary-matching purposes in a TJ trade. But that doesn't seem likely, as all other trades Morey has made with his 1st-round picks on rookie-scale have been for picks or rookie-scale contracts, with the exception of Lamb in a blockbuster trade for a star. Brooks -> Dragic (rookie-scale) + 1st round pick PPatt -> TRob (rookie-scale) Morris -> 2nd-round pick Lamb -> packaged for Harden He doesn't seem to cash in his 1st-rounders for marginal trades involving a higher-salary back. So, why would TJ been part of the Brewer deadline thread? Never made sense to me, but rather fans just looking for any deadlines to get their hopes up for a trade. Morey won't view Brewer's deadline as having anything inherently involved in maximizing TJ.
a couple highlight videos doesn't really tell much especially this early. I could post TJ's best games and say that Harrell wouldn't be able to do the same things he does. His energy is great and all but he still has a long way to go.
