Where does this myth come from that Jones is a horrible rebounder or something? He's having a down year but he's been an average rebounder for a couple of years prior.

Is it perhaps the case that people are not adjusting their rebounding expectations for the new role of PF's in the NBA? If you're suddenly taking 3's you weren't taking before, and the guy you're defending is doing the same you're going to be further from the basket much more often and your rebounding simply has to take a hit.

That's why it's great to have Dwight, who is an excellent rebounder. He makes it feasible for our PF to stretch the defense with 3's and guard opposing forwards further than the basket.

They don't. They were just perpetuating the myth that DMo is the worst rebounder in the world while making excuses for Jones' rebounding numbers. Pretty much par for the course.

I'm hoping the Jones fan crusade ends as soon as he's traded, but I understand that it might go on for a bit afterwards.

It will. Because we are Rockets fans. What's not likely to happen is your DMo crusade ends. You'll find something else to blame if DMo continues being just a secondary "X Factor," whereas everyone else will be more objective fans, as always.

Just ignore him. He is just another dumbass troll who, for whatever sad and pathetic reason, is intent on sucking off D-Mo as hard as possible.

Good to hear, if true, it'll make things a lot better around here. Perhaps previously biased fans will start to see things in a more objective light once they don't have Jones to pine for.

    We'll see.

    You noticed that, too?

If you don't despise Terrence Jones----if you don't believe when he steps on the court that you'll "cross the streams and all life as you know it will cease to exist" (Ghostbusters)---then, well, you support him, you think he's awesome and the best possible power forward solution we have or will ever have, and you're gonna get a jopat / Bobbythegreat / basketballholic "last last word".

I do believe Bobby-holic was the hobo that Terrence Jones kicked in Portland.

I think it was not Jones but his shoe that gravitated towards that Hoboholic or Hobothegreat's face.

Sorry about that. I did crossover to TRB from DRB. Fixed the post for you. The point was the poster I responded to said he needed to continue that great rebounding and D from last night. I'm simply pointing out his rebounding was terrible as usual. Rebounding is an easy skill to see from the advanced stat sheet.

I'd said the same thing about his D except that poster would not likely believe it because he's of the opinion that Terrence rebounded well last night. And I cannot show D on an advanced stat sheet. I don't know what that guy was watching last night to come up with that statement.

Anyways, Terrence continues to be one of the worst rebounding bigs in the Association. He's easily a bottom 20% rebounder among bigs.

I wish we could just say, "Tjones isn't as bad as Holic believes, but Jones is too inconsistent going forward," and, "Nor is DMo, good as he is when healthy, the Great White Hope; power forwards in the Western Conference are really good....is Dmo good enough for that spot, while we upgrade either the 1 or the 3?"

Some stubborn posters on this board.

DMO excels somewhere Jones needs to have the most improvement: Court IQ. DMO is a better passer and is much crisper on his defensive rotations compared to TJones. jones makes up for this by having elite length, but that often is not enough in the NBA. Hopefully with consistent playing time and avoidance of freak injuries Jones can fix his mental lapses that make us all pull our hair out, especially while DMO works his way back into game shape.

You can train a monkey up to a point that he will be able to complete some simple, repeating and boring tasks.

However, you can not train a donkey to run against the horses on the same track.
