Does it warrant multiple threads bashing an injured player that is recovering? He plays bad that is ok. He's got potential and we can agree on that he might be tapping that potential on another team than the Rockets. No need to declare him a garbage player without talent for the rest of his career. That is career damning and you get no value in return!
Again, it turned out that he is a garbage player, the only thing is that some saw it before others. What you dismiss as "bashing" was really just an accurate portrayal of his abilities. That said, we can all hope that some GM somewhere is one of those who buys in to the notion that he's got some kind of "untapped potential" or whatever so that the Rockets can get something for him on his way out.
No what's silly is people thinking that everybody recovers the same. What's silly is people thinking an injury won't have a long time affect. What's silly is people thinking every player will return to form after a serious injury. What silly is those that think they know everything about everything. DD that's what silly my clutchcity compadre. Another thing that's silly is people putting people on ignore because they don't share the same opinion on a certain player they dearly like. Oh and the biggest one is" since you don't contribute to the tip jar, I'm going to put you on ignore aka Mr. Holic. Last but not least: it's funny how so many take another members opinion so freaking personal around here. Now that's silly brother DD. _____________________________- Now as far as Dmo, I knew it was a good chance he would have a set back. It happens sometimes. I also know it's a good chance he wouldn't return back to form this year. Now next season the chance of him returning back to last season Dmo is greater. Brother DD everybody isn't made like Adrain Peterson. Let's be real around here for a change. Oh and Bobby I was joking with you on Smoothie's thread. But again you took it the wrong way as usual Coach. It's very sad when people quickly get into their feelings on social media.
LOL. I didn't realize a bad year after two years of average production qualifies one as garbage.... You are so wise.... All they need to do is look at his whole body of work to see that TJones can be an average NBA player.
There are some parallel between those 2 guys Dmo and TJ Both have shown flashes of brillance in the past. Both have talent. Both did go through nagging injuries. Both were not consistent enough to be a regular starter at PF. If you are not one of the Hateful 8 then you sure seem to think Dmo is the superior player and the portrayal of Jones being a useless player is accurate. Well, I am not going to further question you on this because it is futile. It is on Rox Management that they do not value the PF spot enough. Not our fault. Those are harder to find than a SG, SF or PG. (C is the hardest to find) If they just cannot, will not trade or develop a REAL PF it is falling under their respective responsibilty. We wouldn't have this discussion about Motiejunas or Jones if they got us a REAL PF. This conversation should be MOOT.
I must be a gluton for punishment when I keep coming back here. (it is like -2 right now outside, and I am in Iowa for crying out loud but still) You got on me earlier for involving Jones in a Motiejunas discussion, and then you come back with post after post arguing about Jones again. Bobby, do you have no concept of you, or do you just think its funny to make up your own rules for your arguments? If you were more consistent and didn't flounder around making things up as you go, you might hold some validity towards whatever argument you are trying to make. ....... Reg what you said up above... What would you call it if you were, let's say a carpenter and I walked in and said this furniture is "garbage"?? Would you call that "constructive criticism"... would you call it "keeping it real"??? Or would it be fair to call it.... "Bashing". Whatever it is... fair or not... it wouldn't be professional to say it in most cases (just don't buy the furniture). But you go even further than that. You wouldn't just NOT buy the furniture. You'd put signs up in front of the store telling potential buyers how crappy the craftmanship is. You'd go to the mall and hand out flyers. You'd create a Facebook page dedicated to bashing his work. Why is that... who the hell knows? The carpenter didn't do anything to hurt you personally. Jones didn't do anything to you personally. Yeah, the guy isn't the greatest power forward to play the game. Yeah the guy hasn't improved defensively, and hasn't traded his athleticism for veteran smarts. That doesn't mean that the guy isn't still a player trying to help the team that YOU CLAIM to be a fan of. He's not hurting your team on purpose, he's trying to help it. If he doesn't help it.... MOREY WILL TRADE OR CUT HIM. If he isn't doing so, he's helping the team. Its as simple as that. So shut the F$%# up and enjoy the game tonight. Have a good one.
This makes no earthly sense whatsoever bobby. You didn't know dude would have a bad year after his injury riddled season. And why aren't you factoring in those injuries Mr. MD. Well I can answer that, " you're trying your darnest to be right instead of admitting you were wrong". So now you're pouncing on this topic pounding your chest saying, "you see I was right". No sir you are wrong.
DOBRO FFS STOP Bobby is an idiot. He is a known idiot. He is not going stop saying stupid ****, no matter how good your arguments are. He will stick his head and the sand screaming "LALALALA", pop right back up and keep on barking his nonsense. Just put him on ignore like everyone else does.
IMO they tried to fill that PF gap with Bosh but they should have thought about a Plan B. David West, Millsap.....could have been had.....if you value height then go for Marreese Speights
I view them as yin and yang. Tjones is the athletic, tweener (3/4) with relatively good handles, and a face up game. DMo is a 7 ft tweener (4/5) with height but not length, good bball IQ, and a back to the basket game.
Larsv8 you are right. I remember when you told me to put him on ignore. That might be the best course of action.
Yes they tried several times. We went after Bosh, Love and Aldridge. If they would have acquired any one of those guys, we wouldn't be having this back and forth about Dmo and Jones going on. Why, because both of them would have been GONE. They also wanted Ryan Anderson.
LaMarcus got his minutes reduced compared to when he was in Portland. Now he is happier not being the No1 option night in night out. They got the best coach, best GM, very good system and best scouting team in the NBA. They signed this Boban dude from Southern Europe and he is contributing.
Interested to see how _holic will twist yesterdays game winning performance by TJ His usual go to is that TJ is putting up points against back ups or rookies or scrubs but ZBo and Gasol are one of the toughest frontlines in the entire NBA Maybe TJ had a great game because Conley and Barnes weren't there?
Daywalker Pop's new but old system is a thing of beauty. Back in the day his Superstars logged a lot of minutes. But every since Duncan and Manu got older, he started to limited their minutes, so that he could have them fresh and ready for the rigorous playoff's battle. His team is so deep and he has every player in his system ready to play their particular role. Pop's offense is not solely dependent on it's Superstars. It mainly dependent on great ball movement and player movement. Superstar players still can get their shots up. Now if LMA would came here, yes he would be logging 35+ minutes a game. He wouldn't be the 1st option, he would be the 2nd option to Harden. I believe we would have a much better record if he was a Rockets.
Man I really miss last season's D-Mo. That guy would be a real help right now, along with Lawson continuing to integrate after this suspension. I'm ultra confident about D-Mo's recovery. He's such a hard worker, still young, and doesn't really require a lot of athleticism to do what he does.
Exactly! I wish one of those guys were here. Haha, no more million page thread on TJ/DMo... And their record would be better, although... If one stayed, I'm sure the forum would need to discuss backup minutes (lol). I'm not saying I don't like them depending if it's a good day for one of them (no injuries etc or interest in trying more than just shooting (TJ)), I just don't think either of them are in the same league as proven top PF's (bosh/love/la) or ever will be, hell even Anderson could be an upgrade... Hopefully PF gets addressed along with retrying a PG that is more like a SG, I mean if Lawson doesn't look better after this last suspension... those are 2 spots that need to be looked at (sorry about being captain obvious on that, hahah).
Here's my take, just for you FTW. TJ played probably his best game of the season. The thing I liked most was he didn't fool around with the ball and shot fake a whole lot. I saw maybe 2 shot fakes. The rest of the shots, he caught the ball and fired. 3 for 5 from 3. IF...Terrence would average taking 6 shots from 3 and hitting 2.5 of them for a season I'd be very intrigued with keeping him as a stretch 4. If he could replicate his shooting last night for a season, I'd probably want to match a 4-year offer sheet on him. And if he were averaging 2.5 of 6 3 point shots PER GAME for the season up until now, he'd definitely be worth a first rounder in trade. I'll leave it to you to twist or not twist who he got his points against, FTW. Waiting with bated breath. Why don't you go ahead and tell us, son?
So TJ will be "good enough" for Jopat if he shoots almost 42% from three for an entire season on 6 threes a game on average.... HAHAHAHA. Ryan Anderson.... probably the most well known "stretch 4" in the NBA has averaged 5.4 three point attempts per game over his career, and has never shot over 40% from 3 for an entire season. Peja Stojakovic didn't average Six 3PA per game either. If Jones was to average 42% on Six 3PA for an entire season he would be possible one of the greatest stretch 4's the game has seen. Talk about setting up an argument to which you can NEVER be wrong. I know I need to ignore him and Bobbythenotsogreat, but its just too comical not to some times.
