We put him as PF instead of backup C

Was a good quick fix but it's a bad habit JB needs to stop relying on so much, more to close the game would be better

He looks bad even when Dwight is not in, though Gasol is a tough matchup for him.

He'll be solid when he gets stronger. Right now just not ready for matchups like the Grizzlies.

Rookie wall, and teams are not letting him have a clear path to the basket.

Me too. He's essentially a NBA rookie playing significant minutes so I bet he's feeling a little tired and beat up. He still will need to continue to build that NBA season endurance, and I expect him to be in better shape next year.

Lastly, he's not so much an unknown anymore and is scouted more thoroughly now. Teams know they need to keep an eye on Capela when he rolls or cuts to the basket and when they go against him in the paint.

not mentioned yet. but he has been playing against other starters now instead of bench players.

also in different ways you have adjust your game when you have harden and howard on the floor with you.

great experience for him. i still think he will be a great player in the coming years.

Right now opposing big men are just hacking at him knowing there won't be repercussions because: a.) he's a rookie and is not getting calls; b.) he's a rookie and can't make free throws; and c.) he's a rookie and doesn't know how to sell the foul once he is contacted.

All these things he will either figure out, or he won't. It's kind of a really important skill to learn, selling the contact. Like that idiot TJones getting poked in the eye over and over and just coughing up the ball each time straight into the hands of his opponent without showing the ref that he's been hit. If you're a PF and you're guarding TJones, and he has two giant "PUSH HERE TO INDUCE TURNOVER" spots where his eyes should be, what incentive would you have not to push it? It's like a PCA pump for people in the hospital to give themselves morphine.

Look at what Harden does: if he gets hit in the head you better believe he'll be on the ground with his hands up around his ears. It's a grey area for flopping in today's NBA, except every superstar does it. There's no other way to show the ref what an actual foul is.

Every player has their up and downs, especially role players and when they're young.

Appears to me he's playing more of a horizontal offensive game than vertical on his post moves. My recommendation would be that he jump up to get off his shot, rather than use his length to lean in. He's playing more like Harden when he needs to play more like Howard. When Clint bounces into the lane go straight up with your little jump hook. He'll have more balance and less likely to get blocked. He may need to develop that shot. But that's what he needs to do. He will generally only be able to dunk on oops, so he needs to take advantage of his vertical ability from 4-5 feet out. Less layups. More jump hooks.

When it comes to rebounding Cap will need strength. He does it all on athletic ability right now which is fine. Young. Time to work on that.

Third, new hair cut. He looks like Boyz to men. He needs a trim that make him look like a beast. Half of rebounding is intimidation.

As far as on Defense he's aggressive and challenging shots which is more than every other rocket. He runs the court well. But over time that will decrease anyway.

He's certainly waned a little bit. Not as big an impact. But he can still squeeze some more out on the offensive end. And on Defense he just needs some strength to state, here I am, this is my team now.

Also, seems like in one or two bounces he can be moved into the lane defensively. This has been a constant. He has not improved. So I should have underlined strength in the previous post so that he can take advantage of his natural athletic ability. But additionally it's hunger. That is hardest thing to develop. Capela doesn't have it. You take him into a room and have a curse fest. Let's get that aggression out. And that aggression leads to leadership. He needs to continuously chase his own tail and that will come with confidence.
