Lin is back on the bench where he belongs To them, that 0-9 was the greatest 0-9 performance of all time!
Cliff yanked him out too early. He was just starting to get his shot going. He did contribute in other departments with 2 TO to his 2 assists. Time to blame the Denver altitude LOL
No, the greatest 0-9 performance of all time was Trevor Ariza, because at least he got mad and tried to fight someone. See, I started watching Rockets basketball before Jeremy.
rofl One bad game and all the LOH's come out like roaches. Zboy has been waiting for this bad game for months pathetic
Cant understand why people spend so much time dwelling on Jeremy Lin as a Hornet?? 309 pages of Jeremy Lin talk, 2 years removed from being a Rocket... And 1200+ post by tinman... I stopped caring about Lin the moment he left the Rockets...and its totally sad to see that some are just obsessed with the dude. This would be my 4th post on this thread. smdh...
If you read my past posting, my assessment of Lin as an NBA player is not too much different from yours. He has the most dedicated fan base for a backup is pretty obvious and if you tinsane inmates can't understand why it's really due to your ignorance or self hate like Tinsane.
Yes, it was a friendly back-and-forth. However, you put my name next to a quote that you took out of context. You didn't include the whole thing, and it was obvious that you were trying to make it appear as though "Codman" really believed that Jeremy was a tough, bad mamajamma (LOL, funny typing it). If you look back at the original post, you would see that I wrote that you WISHED/WANTED people on this board, including me, to really believe those words about your beloved Jeremy Lin. Hence, the original post where that came from, starts with "YOU want us to say...". It doesn't say anything about my true belief about Lin. Lol.. It's really not that big of a deal, but I don't think most posters are cool with being misquoted, especially when it's related to something fairly polarizing for ROCKETS fans. If you really want to use one of my beliefs in your sig, how about this?: Although he has continued his career as an average guard in the NBA, Jeremy Lin's talent is greatly exaggerated by his fan base. The Houston Rockets made the correct decision by trading him to the Los Angeles Lakers. Does that work? It's all good...even if I don't understand the "mental shrine" that "Lin-Over-Team" fans function with. I get the love for Yao, in regard to his popularity among the Chinese fan base (And, most definitely, in America after he arrived), but his talent was far superior to what Lin has shown. Moreover, even after a tough rookie season, Yao continued to show progress and developed into an all-star, with consecutive seasons of averaging close to a double-double and leading the Rockets into their first conference sem-finals in more than a decade. Kobe fans? Get it. Lebron fans? Understandable. Hakeem fans? Yup, get it. Harden fans? Understandable. Kevin Garnett? Sure. Dirk? Yeah, especially from how he started, to how he'll finish his career. Jason Terry? Get it--third all-time from the 3. Charles Barkley? Easily understood. But, this type of following from fans? I don't understand. To each his own, I guess. It's all good.
You named great basketball players. Fans of Lin are not fans because of basketball. Lin could quit the NBA and play DOTA2 and they would troll DOTA2 forums explaining how nice Lin's mouse is.
I originally used the quote in my sig without your name. You laughed and asked to provide context, and as a joke, I put quotes around it and put your name...you said you had a problem with that, so I removed your name. So...I am no longer attributing the quote to you (as you never actually said it other than to say that's what I wished people would say), and I am using it because I believe it (sort of...lol!). I like the bad mammajama one better. ;-) I don't understand the player-over-team thing either. I am a fan of Lin's, and I want whatever team he is on to be successful..because at the end of the day, team success is what basketball is all about. Of course, I hope that Lin is a contributor to that success, and that he is treated fairly by his coaches, teammates, and to a lesser degree of importance, by media and fans. With this context, I will point out things that I perceive as unfair treatment. So far with Charlotte, I feel like Lin has been treated very fairly by coaches and teammates (as well as fans and media), even when he was only playing 17 minutes per game...much more fairly than he was treated in LA (as a former Nets fan, I really disliked Byron Scott). And believe it or not, I feel like Kevin McHale treated Lin with a decent amount of fairness when Lin was with the Rockets. Of course Yao is more talented than Lin...Yao was groomed by the Chinese National Sports Organization to be the best their country could deliver, a #1 overall draft pick made by a team who brought in coaches and provided major support to make sure he was as successful as he could be. Lin, on the other hand, was a skinny little kid who learned how to play basketball from his 5'7" middle-aged father, and who had to walk on to every team he ever played for before landing at Harvard. Lin represents a very different group of people than Yao. Lin is American, and many of us grew up very similar to him...son of immigrants who made it to the middle class thru hard work and focus on academics, but Lin broke a barrier for those of us who dreamed of being a pro athlete but were "forced" to go to the Ivy League because of cultural biases (Asian culture for forcing the academic focus, Western culture for not giving Asian-Americans a fair shot at athletic scholarships). Lin is an UNDERDOG...and we Lin fans root and cheer for the guy who is trying to prove everyone wrong about him.
