Sure I would do it but the Titans would not.

You'd trade a known top 3 receiver in the NFL, who is 23, to a division rival (who already has a good young QB), in order to take a flyer on no sure fire QB when if you stand pat, you may be able to get just as good or better of a player?

Sometimes I'm glad we're playing hypotheticals.

If I was hard pressed to do this, I would rather trade Hopkins to the Browns for the #1 pick.

You do NOT trade your best player on offense to a division rival who has already found their QB of the future.

    Oops, meant Browns' #2 pick.

Anyone that would do this is not very bright. To any team.

Well another consideration is Hopkins is a FA next year and due for a raise. Doesn't really make sense for either team.

Titans give up a high pick when they're rebuilding and the Texans would give up their best offensive player when they're not supposed to be rebuilding

Given that 'what' is, IIRC, a Titans fan, you have to imagine there's a bit of wishful thinking here.

I had assumed that the Texans would draft the best available player, in that scenario.

From what I have seen so far, there are no first round talented QBs in this draft. Some QBs will be drafted in the first round, but they will be overdrafts. The smart money move would be to draft the best available, which should be a better player than Hopkins.

JJ Watt for all of the picks in next years draft. Each team gets to use him for one game per season then he goes on to the next one who gave up their draft.

Extremely questionable assumption. I'd put Deandre in the top 50 or 60 players in the league (here's last year's list for reference as a starting point). Hard to imagine--with the risk of any draft pick actually reaching their potential--that the best available player is higher value than Deandre. It's certainly possible, but I don't see why you'd risk a great player for it (unless it's an Andrew Luck-level talent up there)

Yeah but you ain't going nowhere without a qb. Everybody knows it. The texans should have selected blake bortles. Imagine blake bortles with hopkins right now and that defense.

it's unreal that yall did what yall did in 2014. and i don't see how yall are going to get out of it. even if you draft hackenburg, you wasted two of watts good years for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

OP really needs to start a Tumblr or something where he can scribble down his random thoughts. Then he won't feel compelled to start a new thread for every one.

Good point, we really shouldn't be making that concession.

Stop posting. You dont trade your best offensive player to your Division rival, when there is no sure-fire franchise QB in the draft. Stop posting!

It's not his fault, he's a BE-SF fan and an awful organization like the BE-SF's might actually consider doing just that.
