I see a lot of hate in this thread for Harden. Seriously I see people going out of their way to paint him in a bad light even in things that the coaching staff has admittedly told him to do. Keep in mind I personally believe James Harden is one of the worst defenders in the league. If you want to say he holds the ball too long that's true. You want to say he's a bad defender that's also true. But trying to paint James Harden as selfish is a bit ridiculous.
This is where the root of our problems lies personally. The very first play in pre-season with Harden and Lawson on the court, Lawson knifes through the key sucking in the defense and kicking it out on the three point line to......... a wide open James Harden. It is embarrassing watching the Lakers - and sometimes during the game they run plays which net their players wiiiiide open looks. Embarrassing because that's the Lakers.... And they do it more often than us. We need a coach who will not only tell Harden to play off the ball, but actually put in the work in practice to show him just how it's going to look this play and that play through Lawson - and here's the end result - you standing on an island ready to fire.
Why do you have to play this card when people opinions doesn't line up to yours SF. Every players has some selfishness to their games. Early on when we were getting blown out Harden was playing selfish. Shoots I hear Kenny Smith and other commentators say this player needs to play a little selfish sometimes. I remember them saying LBJ needed to play like this several times in the playoff's.
What card? You made up some imaginary card and didn't even bother to explain what the card is. Secondly the everyone is selfish line is complete bull**** and is a very lazy attempt to excuse or wash away the harden hate. There is nothing wrong with being honest. James Harden has plenty of flaws being selfish isn't one. Even when it's proven that the coaches want him to isolate and th err y play him more than anyone else in the league you have people trying to call him selfish. No lazy sometimes but he'll stop overlaying him. But I forgot we have to overplay him because otherwise we'd have to give Corey brewer more minutes.
