That's either a homer statement or wild speculation from the interviewer. I think we see the corner, and can make it around the corner, but we're still carrying shaky habits from the past. At least Morey gives a tempered reply. We are still far from playing 48 minutes of fockass'd defense for me to say we are playing playoff bball, yet. Is all of Houston talking about we've turned the corner? Man, if so, I fear a massive let down coming resulting in fans hanging the Rockets again, and the GARM exploding, if SAS embarrasses on national TV, and GSW has their way on NYE, .... fockass Rockets!!
couldn't agree more w/ heypee. the team still has far too many lapses on D and droughts on O to deem our progress as upwardly mobile. i also don't like what i see out of the PG position. none of our 3 guys can consistently stay in front of their man. and terry/lawson still are not making open 3's, which is often ending up in lost possessions. dmo looks to be at least a month away from being able to grab a rebound. tonight's game will tell us a lot about where we stand
This team could very easily find itself 5-6 games below .500% a month from now. They haven't really done anything yet. Lets see them win 60% of their games against playoff teams and not lose to terrible teams as often.
I agree I don't really think they have accomplished anything yet ironically though I think now that easy portion of the schedule is over the team is going to play a lot better they seem to struggle really bad against weaker teams but they come out prepared against good teams minus Golden State of course it's going to be an interesting second half of the season after the All-Star break
I agree the Rockets tend to play elite teams better than bad teams... The Rockets clearly circle games against high profile clubs. The problem is that the Rockets are going to be playing very good teams fairly often and I don't think they will carry that intensity over game to game. This Rockets team has serious motivational problems and if you are to believe JB, confidence issues. That combination results in inconsistency, which is why the Warriors/Spurs are elite and the Rockets are not. You get elite by having talent (which the Rockets have), consistent effort and desire.... That is a big reason this Rockets club will never win 60-65 games, requires a temperament they don't have. JB is trying to instill that type of attitude and professionalism. McHale tried and it worked for awhile but ultimately they came crashing down. Now it is JB's time and the next 3-4 weeks will tell us a whole lot.
The Clippers have the same issue as us. They give GSW and the Spurs a run for their money but then lose to crappy teams too often.
New interview this morning: http://www.sports790.com/onair/the-...57128/rockets-gm-daryl-morey-on-the-14253970/
The Clippers make 7 games winning streak without Griffin now. Stop saying they have the same issue with us.
Thanks. Basically, guys need to play better. It's hard to make a trade when you are getting a guy who isn't as good as our current guys' potential best.
waited out the 5 out of 6 losses.....to conveniently show up after we won 2 against depleted jazz smh
Of course....but I honestly think the man's working the phones to change up this laissez-faire team. Two power forwards looking to get paid. A center looking to get paid. Brewer's suckage. Etc. What will or won't happen I don't know, but I don't blame him for not coming up for air too often. He's safer in the Fuehrerbunker.
Maybe he was on a holiday vacation with family from XMas eve to Monday after NYs, prior to a long stint of trade talks for two months?
Had Deuce and Clutch conducted that interview, we would have gotten a question about Raphiael Putney!!
to be fair, he was on 790 yesterday after a pretty dismal showing against Utah the first time. check out the interview by Clanton who did a pretty damn good job with it. pretty interesting comments on James late game play and his thoughts in that one too.
