So yeah, still haven't finished myself. My rating is actually going lower than 6.5/10, probably closer to tallanvor's 5/10. I've watched through episode 11 a month ago and haven't looked back. The series started off strong and got worse and worse. The writing and characters just got so dull and painful to watch through. Plus, when they're trying to build a realistic setting, it's hard to swallow he can take all this punishment and come out fighting in a few hours, eg. his fight against ninja-Scorpion. Foggy is terribly annoying. I fell asleep in his episode and episode 11. I can't stand Fisk's saccadic, Shatner-like rhythmic grumbling. Wesley has been the more daunting villain and Fisk comes off like Fat Tony with a temper tantrum. Daredevil himself shows as much emotion as Kawhi Leonard. I just couldn't connect with any part of this series. It just felt too stale after the first few episodes.
Who did Bernthal play in Wolf of Wall Street? I can't remember him. And I don't watch Walking Dead so I don't know much about this guy.
Recently finished it, great series and i was hooked! Thing is towards the end of the season things got sloppy for me, mostly the fight scenes got weaker. The Fisk fight was not realistic or how i imagined it at all. Acting got a little stale from supporting actors and so did the writing. Wished they would have kept James Wes alive, he was really good! The whole scene with Leland did not make any sense. If you were to meet with Fisk to discuss matters and you had Hoffman in the back of your hand for leverage, wouldn't you be cool and calm? Yet they made him profusely sweat and shake at Wilson's questions. Looking forward to season 2.
Just finished it today and wow what a great series. I'll give it a solid 8.5/10. Wilson Fisk/Kingpin is probably the best villain that Marvel has portrayed. He actually has depth and you feel sorry for him at times. It's like he will beat someone to death and then burst into tears because he does not want to be seen as bad. That Good Samaritan speech and him accepting himself as "the ill intent" was chilling. Great scene there. Really looking forward to season two with the Punisher and the rest of Marvel on Netflix. This show would have been awesome on an HBO as well.
Season 2 will be released on March 18. http://www.superherohype.com/news/3...-2-teaser-and-premiere-date-revealed#/slide/1
Oh man, Punisher coming. Gonna make this a watchable show. Unless they make him involved in some highly choreographed kung fu fight. He better just shoot people.
Make it a watchable show? I'm not even going to bother. Of course he's going to shoot people, he's Punisher not Iron Fist.
