Protecting the rights of property owners is the most american of things so I assume you royally messed up your dig at america here. In what way could it be a sign? You go in, order, then see a guy with a gun you will leave. I'm sure this has never happened and is just BS because you wanted to reply but tell me hypothetically at what point int he dining process would you still bail because a guy has a gun?
You have to realize that there really are some people that become just irrationally frightened at the sight of any kind of firearm. I know, it's weird, but I'd bet that there are people who would run out of a restaurant screaming in the middle of a meal if they saw a holstered handgun. I think it's kind of hilarious, but those people do exist.
I just really want to hear how a guy sitting down in a dimly lit restaurant is in any way similar to a sign displayed in a conspicuous manner clearly visible in one inch block letters with contrasting colors.
It's also hilarious that someone would boycott a business for placing a sign saying to keep your guns at home.
In what way is it hilarious? Are you just repeating words you read in the posts you quote again? Could you tell us what point you bail when dining and how it is similar to a sign? I want to help so here is a website listing the restaurants that have signs to keep you more comfortable. Not very many which makes me think owners don't enjoy alienating as many customers as you predicted.
It's hilarious because it's so ridiculous. This will alienate a lot more customers than a sign that says not to openly display guns in their place of business. And if those two nitwits enter a restaurant that I am dining at, I am heading for za hills. Go ahead and call me irrational for that, Bobby.
Well I have good news. You have never seen guys like that when dining and it is HIGHLY doubtful you ever will. Therefore your initial point was as pointless as it was foolish. You are very angry and anxious about something you will never encounter. You also seem unable to grasp that idea of property rights and consumer choice.
What are you talking about? You said you'd boycott a business for not allowing that. I say that I will not go to a business that allows that. I guess you are the only one that gets consumer choice...
No you also get it. I won't laugh at you and I don't find you exercising consumer choice hilarious. I just feel bad you live in paranoia and limit yourself so greatly. That list of restaurants with 30.06 signs is extremely small. I guess you can hope for an explosion of 30.07 signs. In the meantime there is always Chuck E. Cheese's. Never been but based on the videos I have seen, it doesn't look like the safe space you desire. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/fcjz41znkVI?rel=0&showinfo=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> My guess is you go into businesses all the time that allow it, it has never been a problem and you are just a misinformed, low information, poster who repeats words without an understanding of the meaning.
Two guys carrying assault rifles isn't really what open carry is about....because that's literally always been legal in Texas. You know that the conversation is about handguns but you look for the most extreme possible scenario because you probably realize somewhere deep down just how ridiculous you are being. As to you not going to businesses that allow customers to carry handguns, that's fine I'm sure there aren't any businesses losing any sleep over that just like they aren't losing any sleep over those who won't go to places where they can't carry. I personally don't care all that much, if there is something I want, I'll go to that place. Sure I'll look down on them if I see a 30.06 sign and will be less likely to want to give them my business, but if they have a good product, it won't stop me......and most people are like that. Remember when gay people said they'd never go to Chick-fil-A again? How'd that work out? Yeah, sales increased 12% due to the "boycott"
I'd rather eat at a table with 10 AK-47s than spend one minute in a Chucky Cheese. And I am not paranoid at all, but keep ****ing that chicken. You and your ilk sound like the paranoid ones, by the way. THEY ARE TAKING AWAY OUR FREEDOM! MURICA!
No kidding it's always been legal in Texas. That's why there are photos of Open Carry Texas gun fetishists in Texas restaurants from a year or two ago... The most likely people you'll see open carrying are gun fetishists like the Open Carry Texas people. Those people like to carry weapons in places to intimidate (like in front of mosques) or shove in people's faces (like the two idiots in Chipotle). I do not agree with that at all and that's what I am discussing in my posts.
This is why I will never get my CC permit or carry either open or concealed, I am not going to shoot somebody. I talked to the guy that runs the concealed carry class and his take was that if you don't plan on using your weapon in a situation then DO NOT get the license. There are plenty of laws to protect a citizen if they are in their home and are attacked in any way and this is really the only situation that I think I might shoot someone. However, I do not support legislation that restricts somebody else doing so. Most of these laws will have no impact on any person's daily life and are really just political masturbation dividing our country and keeping us from focusing on more important issues.
And you have nothing at all to fear from those idiots.....so probably a bad example if you were suggesting that you'd run for the hills if you saw them. I've run into a group of them in Austin walking down Congress with their AR's, it wasn't a reason to panic.
I have to agree with your decision. If you are unwilling or unable to shoot someone if you needed to then you really shouldn't be carrying a firearm. I don't carry, but that's because I don't feel like dealing with the potential hassle of it all. I've already had enough unfriendly encounters with police that have little man syndrome in the past, I sure as hell don't want to throw a gun in the situation to give them an excuse to shoot my ass.
Like I said...feel free to call me irrational, but I am not standing anywhere near those people and I am certainly not just going to assume I have nothing to fear from them. If open carry gun fetishists are hanging around, I will find someplace else to.
