You think TH is butthurt his guys didn't break the FALSE story? Again, Kyle NEVER met with Herman in Houston, and that was the point. He was dead wrong on that.
If I was the parent of a local high school player and Herman was recruiting my son, this morning did not help his case at all. I know what he was trying to do but he stooped down to their level. They are talk show hosts. That's what they do. Of course they get stuff wrong all the time. They all do. The statement he put out should have been good enough.
If I was a parent I'd be happy that the coach had the balls and the fire to tell off anybody who was doing harm to my kid, which Lopez's report did do. The petty stuff was uncalled for (but that's what Nick Wright does best), but it's clear Herman is a man of accountability and integrity.
I doubt that this interview does anything negative on herman and his recruiting if this is a negative for some of the parents of these recruits then they were probably already out after GrillGate lol not the first time a college coach goes in on some local media
The petty stuff is what I'm talking about. He already told them off in his statement released on twitter.
Has their been any credible sources? Defensive? Lopez claimed an NCAA violation that could severely hurt the program and the recruit.... Herman had to come out strong.
i think he was defensive because nick was tweeting that they broke it first and started taking shots at the local writers who shot down the story earlier. all they care about is that they mentioned "allen and houston" first. then when it was official, nick went into "i told you" mode. question, could allen and tom have met on that sunday, and herman just doesn't want to give 610 the satisfaction of saying they broke 'allen to houston' first? that would be even more gangsta
Yea, I guess I never read Nick Wright's tweets towards Duarte - but Duarte is my fav go-to source for UH football news, and I'm familiar that Herman and Duarte have a close relationship when it comes to media reporting. So for Nick Wright to attack Duarte Herman was trying to protect him just like how Wright was trying to protect Lopez, except that Wright and Lopez were both the idiots here
Right. I love Herman too. Neither of us were on the fence before today. I'm just thinking of parents who are on the fence to allow him to be a father-figure to their son and to help in the process of molding him into a grown man. A lot of parents wouldn't want their son going off on some local talk show and doing the same even if justified.
I would be worried about it if this was a regular thing, but it isn't. He was protecting his program and a recruit. I don't have a problem with it at all. Also, the fact the particular recruit has no off the field issues makes his defense more valid IMO.
Michelle Herman (Tom's wife) just obliterated Nick Wright on Twitter. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr"><a href="https://twitter.com/getnickwright">@getnickwright</a> I'll have lunch with you.
