    In my specific case, no.

I was working at a bank when we were robbed. By the time everyone figured out what was going on, he was already pointing the gun at me. I was the only guy behind the counter, so probably his biggest 'threat.'

Had I been packing, I wouldn't have been willing to risk my life on how quick of a draw I was.

That is correct. The release is on the trigger finger, keeping pressure through the draw can cause and negligent discharge. I'll practice drawing unloaded.

That's the smartest approach. I don't know of any CHL holder that wants to be involved in a shootout.

Well, guess I'll go ahead and buy that Sprinfield XD Subcompact 9mm that I've been eyeing.

    No open carry though.

It's annoying as a business owner to be forced to post these ridiculous signs on our doors to make sure an extremely small percentage of the population knows they can't bring their openly displayed gun into our store. These people just want to be exhibitionists that show off their gun and act like big dicks. Open carry does nothing positive for safety and just because 44 other states had some form of it doesn't mean it needs to be enacted.

Especially for something as stupid as bank money. Unless it's my money or someone else's life I wouldn't try to be a hero.

Well they don't HAVE to put those signs up, they can always choose to not be cowards.

FYI those signs are the same as a closed sign for me and many other people who will never open carry.

People openly carrying guns in a restaurant is a closed sign for me. Something tells me you are in the minority compared to me.

If you are afraid simply because someone has a handgun, well...what would you call it?

Maybe it's just a culture thing, but the irrational fear caused by the presence of a firearm is just laughable to me. Personally I'm not a fan of openly carrying, or carrying at all really, but I'm not afraid if I see someone else is.

Sure. I mean, now if they take it out of the holster and start waiving it around shouting "EVERYBODY BE COOL THIS IS A ROBBERY" or whatever, that would change things. The mere presence of a handgun doesn't bother me.

Also, if they walk in openly carrying, it means that odds are they aren't going to be causing any trouble. That said, I'm not a big fan of open carry to begin with. Even if I had the permit for it, I'd never do it in public and I never did it in public when I lived in states that had open carry without a permit. I just don't see a point.
