I didn't know anything about him during the draft so I personally wasn't very high on him, but I remember several people here were (including Clutch).

    Don't trade the N.O pick unless it's for a star. - (50% of CF)

The problem isn't drafting or finding talent imo.

Plenty of former Rockets transition to other teams and have successful careers. The problem is the lack of an environment (whether you want to call it mentoring, staff, or system) for players to develop to their potential.

Portis is a lot closer to Ibaka than Capela.

Me too. Let's face it, this is another first round mistake like Kwahi Leonard. Both seemed like obvious picks. Morey seems to overthink these 1st rounders. I spit every time I think Kwahi could be on this team. Bobby Portis is the perfect two-way stretch 4 for our team. Sam Dekker at best is a poor man Parsons.

Looks a lot like James Johnson to me. I just don't see that jumper being a weapon. I would let him shoot that all day long. I'm not terribly impressed, but he is definitely an NBA player. Interesting find Clutch. I wonder what the Bulls are going to do, and If the Rockets could be in on it. Could we snag Rose or Mirotic? Would we even want Rose? I digress...

If I had to choose, I would keep Trez and Sam, still. It is really too bad Sam is hurt, he would have gotten an opportunity.

    This.

Our team has already pre-assigned you to the D-League here. If you are actually playing it means at least one, if not multiple, players are injured.

Rockets do not view first rounders as ready-now, ever. You really don't get a chance here.

If Bobby was here, he'd be a D-Leaguer.

I think Morey picking Dekker was merely a eff you to Parsons.

He wanted to show him how easily he could be replaced.

My two picks at #18 went by position of need. 1) was PG like Jerian Grant and secondly Portis

I don't know how good those two will turn out but I am fairly confident they will end up better than Dekker who to me will be a career scrub

Sam Dekker is totally irrelevant to the failure of the Rockets this season, even the Rockets will have the No. 1 pick and drafted KAT, it won't make much difference too.

The GSW's first round pick was done for the season and played ZERO minutes.

No one is saying their GM did a bad job in the draft.

He's a pretty good shooter esp in the mid range. He was basically LaMarcus Aldridge last year at Arkansas.

Not like James Johnson at all. His offense is more mid-range and occasionally the three point shot rather than back to the basket. I don't see him being a superstar but he certainly can be a 16/8 player

His facial expressions alone make him the superior pro. OMG.

But seriously, we'll have to see how he defends, but he could just end up being a tall version of Del Curry, a bench shooter (which would not be too shabby actually).

Portis should have been the pick.

    Dekker was a waste.
