Enough with the analyzing the team let's have some fun.

Which team do you guys think would win?

    EX Rockets

    PG - Lowry/Dragic
    SG - Green/Lamb
    SF - Parsons/Morris
    PF - Scola/Patterson
    C - Whiteside/Asik/JHill

    Vs.

    PG - Bev/Lawson
    SG - Harden/Thornton
    SF - Ariza/Brewer
    PF - Dmo/TJones/Harrel
    C - Howard/Capella

I think I would go with the ex Rockets, more heart - more competitive fire there.

We sure have given up a lot of talent there.

If there are better Ex Rockets I have forgotten let me know I will adjust - and no, that does not include Lin.

    :)

Should playing a game as a Houston Rocket be considered a basic qualification of being an ex-Rocket?

Also, lets not get too excited about the heart's of Hassan Whiteside (who's attitude is well documented), Kyle Lowry (who the big story going into this year was, "Hey! Kyle Lowry is no longer Eddy Curry level fat!"), and Marcus Morris/ Jeremy Lamb (....)

    Whiteside was never a Rocket.

You're stuck with stonehands Asik. :) However, you do get Rick Adelman as coach vs. Kevin McHale/John Blair Bickerstaff.

    Ex-Rockets still in the NBA
Kyle Lowry | Goran Dragic | Aaron Brooks | Shaun Livingston | Jeremy Lin | Ish Smith | Isaiah Canaan | Pablo Prigioni | Toney Douglas
Courtney Lee | Kevin Martin | Gerald Green | Garrett Temple | Jeremy Lamb | E'Twaun Moore | Troy Daniels
Chandler Parsons | Marcus Morris | DeMarre Carroll | Rob Covington | Chase Budinger | James Anderson | Kostas Papanikolaou | Alonzo Gee | Metta World Peace
Luis Scola | Patrick Patterson | Josh Smith | Omri Casspi | Jon Leuer | Carl Landry | Thomas Robinson | Steve Novak | Christian Wood
Omer Asik | Jordan Hill | Cole Aldrich | Tarik Black

    By team
    Brooklyn: Thomas Robinson
Charlotte: Troy Daniels, Jeremy Lamb, Jeremy Lin
    Chicago: Aaron Brooks, E'Twaun Moore

Over a 5 year period the team with Harden & Howard will win a much larger amount of games & have deeper playoff success.

Why do I say so.... because a team with Harden & Howard has had two years of prior success to back that up.

This year you could argue whatever you want in an isolated experiment because well... the Rockets have had an anomaly of a bad season. So bad their defense is ranked at the tail end of the league.

But as bad as this season is, if you combine the entirety of this season, and the past two seasons prior, you'd be hard pressed to come up with any past Rockets lineup combo that has had more success in a three year period than the Harden/Howard lineups.

If you are talking about likability then that's a whole other argument. There are plenty of other Rockets past lineups with higher character & fan appeal. But its going to take alot more losses & potentially more losing seasons to create a case that past Rockets lineups (after the championship years) are better.

Contention for what? I don't care if they were 33-0 right now, no one realistically thinks the Raptors can win it all.....

The nba this year is Cavs, Spurs, Warriors. Everyone else should be tanking.

It depends on what version of Harden you get, last year or this year.

That's pretty much the only question

They aren't in the league any more

But sure put them as players 13-15 if you like.

I'm surprised you left Aaron Brooks off of there considering you spent years of the Lowry/Brooks era denying that Lowry was better.

2014-2015 Rockets would destroy the 2015-2016 Rockets.
After all,..... .They're not the same team.
