I think that's the key thing. Can we become a contender before Harden becomes a free agent? We have two and a half years to make that happen. If and when Les and Morey come to the conclusion we CAN'T contend with Harden, they MUST do what's in the best long term interest of the team.

I am still holding out hope that we can turn things around this season. I am still hoping we can keep Harden and make our team stronger next summer. But, Les and Morey can't be afraid to make a difficult yet smart decision if that is what's needed. All options should be considered.

What free agents want to play with Harden? Lin goes from starting to coming off the bench because Harden needs the ball. We acquire Josh Smith and he is brought off the bench because Harden needs the ball. Ty Lawson comes off the bench because Harden needs the ball. Dwight is a spectator on offense because Harden needs the ball.

You really think free agents want to come play with Harden. You think other players want to play with a guy who dribbles out the shot clock all game long? I don't think so.

EXACTLY - the players know what is up....people don't want to play with James.

Agreed there are always players that just want to party and go to strip clubs. We should just put booze in the gatorade because those are the players that want to play with him. His party buddies. I'd find a way to get the most out of Harden in a trade before we're stuck with "just another bad contract".

    Kevin Durant maybe?

Let's not make any decisions on Harden until we know what KD wants to do.

there was actually a story on Dragic today and his view of the Phoenix organization...said their problem is always looking for changes..they get good players at a position, and rather than building up the other positions, they still go for players at that already-filled position. Houston wasn't mentioned, but I'm sure that was his issue here, as well. He thought he earned the right to be part of the core, but knew he wasn't safe.

Does Les show up at practise? If not, he should. People always work harder when the boss is hovering around ;)

HAHA! LOL. No offence, but there is NO WAY KD would come to Houston and especially not under our current circumstances.
If he either doesn't stay with OKC or go to Washington, he'd go GSW before us.
If he leaves OKC and doesn't choose his home, it would be to a genuine contender and that ain't us.
I wish he'd come to Houston. Yes he played college in Texas for 1 year and we have Harden & Lawson, his mates. But he's just as much mates with Westbrook.

The last 3 games Jones played he's been awful and clearly wasn't playing hard. Chances of him being traded might be pretty high.

LOL! Les was sitting there during one of the broadcasts between the commentators chatting about the team - and they were playing like crap...
The 'boss' angle carries no threat when you got 280M sitting in the bank...

Put the big dog in check - and everybody else falls in line... let the big dog continue to piddle on the carpet - and the whole herd will take a dump wherever they please...

Jones plays better when Dmo is also on the roster. Gets complacent when he has no competition

It's not about the off court stuff. He's kind of a ball hog in the complete sense.

Les needs Harden more than Harden needs Les. They both know this too.

    Harden is the boss.
