I think we're missing that guy that brings it all together. That guy that's the psychological motor of our team. Someone that our team naturally gets behind because of how they carry themselves. To be honest, that motor guy should be Bev. He broke into the league doing motor things. But, its a shame that he's gone away from that attitude. As the trade season starts to open up for us, I'd love for us to look for someone who brings that psychological leadership to the team, instead of just upside. 'Keefs debacle makes me think he's not really going to help us. It bothers me that he's deciding what he brings to the table for his team. That way of thinking is not going to help us get out of where we're at, where we've opted out of transition and team defense.
A question I'm going to bury in this thread: Why don't we utilise more full court press? Is it an archaic defense? Is it ineffective? I think we have the length and speed to harass the hell out of some guards and I think it's the type of D that Harden could singularly focus on and lead to fast break points. No gambling, just solid pressure from the baseline that disrupts the other teams offense and takes time off the clock.
Well I was talking about the team statistics for the most part. Your temper tantrum side rant on Harden is a bit out of place, but whatever you say. The defensive four factors are a fairly common knowledge to anyone who has even a slightly above average interest in basketball. http://www.basketball-reference.com/about/factors.html http://www.sportingcharts.com/dictionary/nba/defensive-four-factors.aspx http://www.basketballgeek.com/2009/02/22/examining-defense-defensive-four-factors/ If you ever bothered going to a game, you might notice them on the big screen, plain as day. Your ignorance of it, is not a strike against my arguments. Its becoming more and more clear that you just aren't very sophisticated in this. Like I said if you find value in a stat that is not defined and shows Barnes better than Durant. I looked on the site, I did my due dilligence, I didn't see anything show me how it was determined. Please post a link to this. I like to think I am consistent in this regard, if not, I deserve the criticism. The only thing hilarious here is your meltdown thinking I am somehow manipulating these statistics to meet my own ends. I am trying to take you seriously here, but you its like trying to have a conversation with a cave man. If you have a problem with that post, I think you should bring it up in that thread.
We are only mid fourth quarter in this Jazz game, but defensive rebounding AGAIN, major issue for this team.
Harden has 7 turnovers, a lot of them of the "other team gets a fastbreak" variety. He's also jacking up too many 3s, 12 so far. Last year he averaged 7.
LOL And we won last year with poor turnovers. Why is it so hard to admit these are our two biggest issues?
Harden turnovers is a problem Harden takings shots, before bigs are under the basket is a problem Terrence Jones anywhere on floor is a problem Iso ball and no player movement is a problem Long rebounds are killing this team and is a problem
Is Clint C hitting the wall? He can barely catch anymore and looks a couple steps slower than he did to start the year.
He is being exposed right now by stretch players. When we play power teams he's ok as long as he's out there with Dwight. When we play teams like this Utah team tonight that can spread it out with Favors/Gobert out...then Capela looks very pedestrian because he comes down defensively to the paint first leaving the perimeter guys wide open. Clint simply isn't ready. Like I said, he's okay alongside Dwight when we play double big lineups. But anything outside of that role and he's in trouble. Floor spreading offenses and he sucks. Putting him in the middle with a small-ball lineup and he gets eaten alive at the rim defensively. He's simply not ready to do much more than be a secondary paint defender to Dwight.
I didn't say they weren't an issue, but they aren't the issue relative to last year. Don't act like you're objective then get emotional when someone disagrees Turnovers got worse, Harden is playing much worse, our PFs are worse, our defense is much worse
I am not biased nor am I emotional. Turnovers got better. Harden is playing somewhat worse, and our defense is alot worse. Turnovers %: 2015-2016 - 28th - 14.9 2014-2015 - 28th - 15.0
