You are either not watching the game, or a blinded Harden homer, or an idiot. Harden had 5 straight TOs in 4th, fouled Whithey (ref didn't see it), fouled Hood on the 3 (Hood made 2 out of 3 FTs), fould Hayward unnecessarily. He almost gave the game away by his D alone, let alone his bone headed offense. He might look good on a few defensive plays, but largely credit to Harrell's great defense. I have no idea what 'huge role' you saw from Harden in our comeback.
Notice Harrell here. He guarded 3 guys in a row. First Booker, then switched to Burk, then went up to challenge Whithey. All timings were perfect, and he sure gave his all on every single assignment. TJones, are you watching THIS?
your right...I haven't seen this from another rocket all season. Maybe Capela but that's about it. KJ deserves more playing time too...guys that will at least hustle
Harden gave the game away and then helped cut the lead down and then fouled the Jazz causing a stupid 3 point play at the end of the game and Jazz almost tied it up as a result...that's the game I watched
Harrell definitely fouled buddy. Also, I just messaged Mr. Cambell. I have known this toolbox for years. He tries to be an objective commentator/reporter, along with maintaining his Jazz and SLC ties, but he is a joke in basketball circles. When I saw that name and the face, I shuddered just a bit. This is a man who will say that Greg Ostertag was a legit defensive force in his prime. Seriously. Anyway, we've been screwed in Utah for DECADES, so I don't particularly care about this no call. It was two "no names" (Sorry, MH, you're not there yet) going up against one another. I like how Mo acted like he was Dikembe afterwards lol. That wasn't even close!!!
We don't have a great defensive scheme but with some effort it will be average D. It's really not Rocket science. (did I just say Rockets?) Harrell on the play was ready to take off for Trey Burk (you can see that little hop preparation from him), then switched to Whithey immediately after Burk passed the ball. You bet if it was Harden, he would not make any effort on his 2nd/3rd assignment, and looked at his teammates like 'man let US play that PnR defense better next time', or worse, 'what the xxxx did you just do man?'
Once we took the ball out of Harden's hands as initiator the offense flowed much better. Also, Harrell's energy was needed. I am thinking most of Dwight's issues are that other than an alley oop none of our guys can get him the ball because he doesn't spread out and seal his man. DD
right on, tjones got the worst awareness on the court, plus he never box out, should play Harrell more.
Jones had 1 rebound and -9 tonight in 15 minutes Montrez the Rookie with less playing time this season had 2 rebounds and +9 in 17 minutes
Hmmmmm First half down by 15 before the half. Brought it down to 10. Second half is Harrell and no Jones and we come back and eek out a win Coincidence?
Do the stats show his hustle plays... Do they show how he made sure that the man he was blocking did not get the ball... Do they show his defensive rotations.... There are some things that don't show up on stats that make a huge difference.... As DD stated he brought energy to the floor... T_Man
With all my Harrell homer posts above, I would still say this is small sample data. However the effort was dead clear, and the on court awareness. Tjones for many games was completely lost in both offense and defense. TJones was beyond bad that almost every replacement would bring a positive impact at this point (except a Brian Cook).
yeah he was great shooting it in the 3rd, I have no issues with the shooting, his decision making on his passing is pretty bad. We need to take the ball away from him and stop letting him pass it, he is Jeremy Lin like with his passing. DD
