An armed group took over a US government facility and threatened to shoot police/military if they tried to take back the facility. Also, apparently the local population are not supportive of their cause and some are actually afraid of them,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,sounds like a bunch of terrorists to me.
I can't decide if the Wildlife Refuge hdqtrs already had gym equipment or if the Yall Qaeda brought it with them.
re: grover norquist. what language does he think we'd be speaking? that supply room looks stocked for a weekend...
I wouldn't go that far, but I'm not overly fond of them. They are alright, but there is no shortage of them so I don't get misty eyed about it when the dregs get themselves killed for being awful people.
I find it funny that twitter activists want the national guard to come and shoot each one these people but they were the one defending cities being torched down. I wonder if these same people cared when armed black militia threaten cops by the police station
Dude, I thought you'd be half way to Oregon by now with your bug out bag and a couple thousand rounds of green tips. Get to it!
Ironically, while most people seem to have migrated from an initial desire to raid to a realization we can wait them out, I've gone the other way. Sure, we could besiege them and wait for surrender and it'd probably be effective and peaceful. But then I remember this is federal property. This isn't like Waco where they holed up on their own property. This is our property, and we really shouldn't have to put up with them trespassing. I'm partial to the strident enforcement of the law in this case. My only hesitation is the danger posed to law enforcement.
If law enforcement has no-knock raids as a policy, I'm not sure why this would be categorized as more dangerous for the occupants or law enforcement. This has to be at least trespassing and assault charges.
I think the government should treat these people the same as Occupy and the recent BLM encampment in Minneapolis. Occupy took over public spaces and stayed there illegally but for the most part they were allowed to do so often for weeks until both their support dropped and they also became much more of a nuisance to neighbors who even might've supported their cause. The same thing happened with the BLM encampment. These militia guys already don't have the support of the people they are saying they are there to protect. I don't know much about the station they are occupying but if they easily walked in and took it over it probably isn't being used much. At least for now there is no need for unnecessary bloodshed and/or to make martyrs of them. Let them have their show and gradually their will stay out there and any local support will start drying out. The only exception would be if they started to get violent but as long as they are peaceful the best course would be to wait.
Yeah but if those Occupy people or BLM guys were black, the cops would have instantly shot them or some other stupid narrative that people want to push.
I'm not a fan of no-knock raids, though I can see why they are sometimes necessary. In this case, with armed occupants who said they would fire on law enforcement, a no-knock raid actually looks defensible. Just to highlight how very dumb this occupation is, if the government chose to raid them and an officer was killed (God forbid), the whole lot of them could be charged with murder. They could potentially be charged for murder even if it is one of their accomplices that is shot by police. Even without that, I'm sure there are a lot of charges the feds can already throw at them. They may have a lot of prison instead of freedom in their futures.
