The worst is posters who bring eggball and JJ Fatt into the GARM to begin with. They need to go post in the relevant forums. This thread was going well until some doofus brought up JJ Fatt. Anyway back on topic. The results are quite perplexing. While I pretty much expected Harden to take more of the heat, the wide disparity basically tells us that fans are in the "what have you done for me lately mode." Few weeks back, Howard was toast around here. For me it's always been Harden, right from training camp and pre-season and not having his priorities right all summer.
It just took awhile to become obvious. It's already in the stats, Harden is much worse, Dwight is slightly better. But even just watching the game its really obvious harden isnt the same
Yeah absolutely, but no way the other team does this. Getting a similar value swingman (and one who actually plays defense) would be ideal. Then you could actually play Lawson/ Thornton and cover up their defense. Lawson/Bev/Terry Butler or PG/ Thornton Ariza/KJ Capela/Jones/DMo Howard That would be a really good defensive team, and there would be enough offense from butler or pg plus Lawson, Thornton and Dmo
Actually I like this and have been a big proponent of this and I believe Harden still has more value around the league than Butler or PG that we could get another asset in return like a Portis or CJ Miles or J Chill
His value is not that high. His reputation as a no defense SG really hurt his trade value. I'll take a trade of Butler for Harden straight in a heartbeat.
Role players have failed Harden more than the other way around. Harden would be averaging more than 10 assists a game if role players could make open threes. His vision is still outstanding.
True, it'd be nice if they were more effective and consistent offensively, though Harden fails the role players on the defensive end when he doesn't put in proper effort or when he ISO's for multiple possessions in a row down the stretch of games. It goes both ways. There's failings in a lot of areas of the team. This is the case at times, and it is indeed very frustrating, but hardly true for the majority of the time.
What's the point of this reply? You really going to pretend our shooters aren't missing open spot-up threes being created by Harden?
The only reason i picked James by a mile is because, by a mile, he is our superstar. No matter what, we go where he goes.
I mean...maybe not to the absurd degree of last year, but it's not like he's been incapable or anything this year. Generates quite a bit. Still averaging just under 7 assists a game. Surely those aren't all contested shots somehow falling. Really I just want his defense and his turnovers to improve (jury is out on that to say the least). Those are my main Harden concerns at this point.
I voted Harden but it's close. Howard has had several subpar games and his absence in B2Bs early in the season wreaked havoc with the rotations and team defense. And we can't discount the poor performances by the likes of Brewer, Jones, Lawson, Ariza, and Harrell(before his demotion). Not to mention D-Mo not being close to his 2014-15 self and both McHale and JB doing a lousy job coaching. But James with his ballhogging, poor shot selection, costly TOs, overreliance on the refs' whistles, and little to no interest in playing defense is really hurting us. I think it's mostly a team effort(if you can call it that) that's led to the disastrous record, but if I had to pick one main culprit, it would have to be Harden.
