I'm willing to bet if Morey actually tried to trade James ( Which I guarantee he isn't ) 90% of the NBA would be lined up outside Houstons door.
I'm talking about superstar swaps, which gives us a superstar in return. Warriors going to give us Curry for Harden? What team is going to give us their superstar for Harden?
The warriors would absolutely trade Klay for Harden though. The Warriors would have a dynasty for the next 6-7 yrs if that happened.
Maybe not. The Warriors might already have a dynasty. Yes Harden is the better talent but Klay is much likely the better fit next to Curry.
In the "move on from this group" vein: Dwight DMo Brewer For Love Varejao Cunningham The rockets get a long term piece in Love and get to clear out Brewer's salary (Varejao's contract is mostly guaranteed for next season and entirely guaranteed for the following). The Cavs get an elite defensive center, a PF that can replace some of what Love gives them, and Brewer was a guy they went after a year ago.
Ty and Jones to Minny for Rubio and Deng plus Brewer for Markeif Morris Rubio, Bev, Jet Harden, Thornton Ariza, McDaniels, Morris Morris, DMo, Capela Howard, Deng, Capela
Howard, Ariza, Brewer, Jones and Terry to Charlotte for Jefferson, MGK, Lamb, Zeller and Kaminsky Jefferson is just a filler who is expiring, Rockets dump 2 long term contracts and get some decent value for Howard. Beverley Harden / Lamb Gilchrist / Dekker / KJ Motie / Zeller / Harrell Capela / Kaminsky Jefferson, Lawson, Thornton walk I'm free agency. Rockets infuse roster with young players who can contribute. Hire a new coach, make some solid off season signings and focus on retooling around Harden.
Not really. Paul George is an inferior player on the offensive end and has dropped off dramatically after his hot start. We should be talking about finding a way to team Paul George with Harden.
Rockets need to surround the guys they really want to keep with players they can trust. Players who have no agendas.
Retooling with a lot of cap room. I think this is meant to be a starting point not the end. Yes, this team is bottom 5 as is.
That's the lineup for the offseaon once the expirings walk, not the lineup after the trade. I don't think it would be a bottom 5 team, too much talent. Maybe not a playoff team but it is a trade intended for opening up space for free agency, tradez and future transactions and not a trade to upgrade the team. The would be the lineup after the trade, not the off season lineup Beverley / Lawson Harden / Thornton Gilchrist / Lamb Motie / Zeller / Kaminsky Capela / Jefferson All the young players from the trade are contributing now, all key role players in Charlotte, a playoff team.
They were already interested in Lawson before. What it likely means is that there is no deal anymore since it would have revolved around JJ.
Wouldn't be sure about that, especially if JJ could be sent to a third team for salary matching (Minny-KMart/Rubio).
