I haven't seen the movie. Leo as an actor can be good - really good, or he can be bad - awful.

I think a lot of it has to do with the director. As Gilbert Grape he was really good. He's been good in all of the Martin Scorsese films. He was pretty good in Gatsby. He was awful in Romeo and Juliette. He stunk the film up.

He was absolutely horrible in Titanic. He was okay in Blood Diamond, but not great, and the accent got in his way.

He was horrendous in the Beach. He was middle of the road in Revolutionary Road. He was less than competent in Basketball Diaries.

He has some range, but nothing like the range of say Johnny Depp. Depp could play his Keith Richards pirate as well as the creator of Peter Pan in Finding Neverland. Depp can play the off-beat leads in the Tim Burton movies as well.

Leonardo DiCaprio could never ever play the lead in Finding Never Land. He just doesn't have that kind of range.

I certainly do want to see The Revenant. But isn't because of Leo. He can be really good, or he can be awful.

Depp is more talented, but Leo is much better at choosing which movies to be in. Out of all of Leo's movies I would say J Edgar was the only turd. Beach was meh, but not terrible.

Depp has been in some garbage movies.

That's true, Depp has been in some real stinkers.

I disagree about Depp. I don't think is capable of playing a believable real person at this point. He is all schtick to me.

As for the movie, I watched is last night. Beautifully shot and good, but not great imo. Seen plenty of better movies this year.

Amazing cinematography. The bear attack and the knife fight at the end are 2 of the more brutal scenes you'll see in a film.

Looking at Depp's filmography..he hasn't been in a good movie in over 10 years. I haven't seen Black Mass yet though.

I loved those scenes. Blood on the camera was a nice touch.

i liked the film, i thought it was good but not great. The cinematography art direction and filming however was incredible IMO.

One thing I'm uncertain about is the ending.

Is it suppose to be ambiguous or are we suppose to know what the ultimate result is.

I got to look it up at wikipedia before watching the movie. Glass ultimately gets killed be Native Americans, so I was waiting for that to happen. But it didn't.

Perhaps I exaggerated. I read it's not a good movie instead of it's not a great movie.

Hell yes! Another reason to get xb1 over the ps4 lol.. It is a little tricky to close out pop ups (click X twice fast) but easy to figure out once you know how to do it. Great quality too.

I am reading the book right now and looking forward to seeing the movie. It was filmed in the Canadian Rockies in Alberta, not far from where I live. Apparently Leo rented a house close to mine but I never saw him.

The book is fiction, but based on real events and characters - I have avoided finding out more until I finish the book, so as not to spoil it. Great story though.

Loved the book. The story is somewhat different but still close enough.

Sorry to be a downer, but people on reddit say that site works on PS4 too. I will probably try it out tonight with another movie.

    I'll throw out a few.

Could Depp be in Wolf of Wall Street, Gangs of New York, The Departed, Django Unchained or Shutter Island? Could he be Howard Hughes? I don't see it in any of these films. Leo brings something special to the large majority of his films.

Johnny Depp sucks some serious ass in many of his Tim Burton leads, btw, and has let out some of the worst, smelly stinkers I have seen. To say he is inconsistent is an understatement.

Mortdecai, The Lone Ranger, Every Pirates sequel, Dark Shadows, The Tourist, Public Enemies, The Libertine, Transcendence... Ugh, I am disgusted that I have seen all these.

Titanic is Marlon Brando good acting in comparison... And when you see the revenant, you will be seeing it for Leo, whether you like it or not. He is the heart and soul of this film, like he is in so many others.

Yea Depp has to be absolutely ashamed of himself. Seriously, who selected his prior movies? Draw out of a hat or toilet?
