Yeah, I'm sure both would jump on that deal.

Astros would have to listen in on that deal, but would probably require tweaking. I think they would need more in return or reduce their outgoing.

Agree, no reason to give up the prospects if you also lose Gomez

Thanks guys for your quick response on whether or not that that trade proposal was for real or not, I don't post on here much but come on everyday just to read thoughts and comments on different topics, and really only post when I have questions and always get answers I should known to come straight here when I was shown the trade proposal and would have been told that there was more to the article than what my Co worker showed me again thanks ya'll guys are great

    Chapman to the Yankees

So the Yanks traded for Chapman. Odd that they would stack Miller and Chapman together, a lot of resources devoted to the bullpen when their starting pitching is so-so. Thinking that they will trade Miller now, assuming MLB doesn't suspend Chapman for his domestic issues.

Wow Chapman's off-field baggage allowed the Yanks to get him for seemingly prospect cheap. If they keep Miller though... has MLB ever seen a 7-8-9 bullpen that dominant?

Looking at the numbers they put up in 2014 you may be right. They did have quite a year. That's kind of anti-climactic though.

But seriously I'm excited to see this Yanks pen in action. Chapman/Betances/Miller combined for 347 K in 212 IP last season. That's Randy Johnson in his prime.

I wasn't sure if I wanted Kaz back or not. But when I see this news, I'm not even slightly upset. I guess I didn't want him back.

Now we'll see if other dominoes begin to fall..

I certainly would have liked to have Kazmir as our 4th starter, but that was a great contract that he got from the Dodgers, and I don't mind that the Astros did not match it. For a guy that once flamed out and was once a Sugar Land Skeeter, good for him.

Says to me that we are either signing gallardo, or unloading the farm for Fernandez.

agree that it indicates gallardo is likely. Fernandez seems an impossibility in my mind, but let's see..

What are the options now that Kazmir is gone? Gallardo?

Or, perhaps, we roll with Fister and Lee for one year.
