JB doesn't know how to call timeouts when teams make runs on the Rox. It's JB's fault just as much putting players in situations they can't win. Our lineup got destroyed in the 3rd period and he did nothing but watch it happen without calling a timeout.

 

You cannot get outrebounded (offensively), turn the ball over and miss 13 FTs. There it is in a nutshell. - Calvin

Exactly right. I'm not sure credit Harden with Korver missing all of his shots is entirely logical. He had at least 3 open looks in the last 5 minutes of the 4th.

 

Capela was in the game too, Hawks got their switch.

They got their switch all in the clutch, every time got their guard Teague on Dwight or Capela. We were lucky to even have a shot to win the game with how outcoached we were.

 

Im sorry, but this team is so dumb and stupid.

Everyone throwing or trying alley-oops when we are up by 12?! Capela threw 2 straight alley-oops to Howard when Howard was getting doubled. Dmo and Harden trying to complete alley-oops..

Everyone not hustling for rebounds when WE ARE DOWN AND NEED THE BALL?! Millsap was injured and he was out hustling every single Rocket on the ****ing floor.

Hawks in the penalty? OH, LET'S FOUL THEM TO GIVE THEM FREE THROWS!!

Hawks doing hack a Capela? LET'S HAVE HOWARD INBOUND THE BALL TO PREVENT HACK A CAPELA?

Playing Brewer?! This guy ruined all the momentum we had in the game with his stupid play and crappy defense. All he had to do was play Horford right since Howard was right behind him, but since its Brewer, he gambled and Horford got into his move quicker.

Harden holding the ball, when its a tie game! Get into the offense sooner! You need to score FIRST before you worry about running out the damn clock.

THREE ****ING TIMEOUTS when it was clear our offense on that last run was going NOWHERE! What are you doing JB? Counting sheep in the sideline?! YOU HAVE TIMEOUTS AND YOU SEE THE TEAM STRUGGLING - CALL TIMEOUTS!!

Timeouts in general, the Hawks were making a run and the Rockets were turning over the ball on consecutive possessions and JB calls a timeout when they TIE the game?!

Again, playing COREY FREAKING BREWER when he has done NOTHING great this whole season!?

This team, in its own stupidity and immaturity, has caused themselves to lose probably 10 games this season, plus all the time they had the game in hand and made it harder on themselves to pull the win out.

I am so tried of this. This needs to change. Tired of the talk and no consistent results.

He missed some, but he was also covered well on others. Harden's defense was not an issue tonight.

Its the same thing its every night, defensive rebounding.

 

I'm sorry, but there is no fixing it with this group of players. If this team wants to win, the roster needs to change.

They must do it now. Give this team more time to gel and improve.

 

The Rockets shot 54% from the floor, 55% from three, scored 115 points total including a 41 point first quarter. Hawks won by 6. Not the whole story but still....

 

At least we can face the truth. This team presently constructed will be 41-41 at best.

 

I don't get it. Atl has the ball with 50s left after a timeout. JB, correctly, has a defensive lineup out there with Brewer and Capela. They unfortunately score after a bad switch, but we still have 3 timeouts, down 2 with 35s left. For some reason, he doesn't call a timeout to get an offensive 5 out there, and we have no spacing which leads to an awful Ariza drive into crazy traffic. This is really, really basic stuff. And its on JB and his assistants.

I understand when players make dumb mistakes since they're going full speed amongst the greatest athletes in the world, but coaches who have no physical factors to deal with cannot continue to butcher these simple decisions. Considering we have a gm who is known for his intelligence, I can't believe he's hired consecutive coaches who can't seem to get this stuff consistently right.

 

Morey talked about not having time to waste when he dumped Mchale, we really don't have time to waste on a coach that is clearly underperforming. I am not saying JB isn't a good coach, just not for this team with these personalities. I do believe he could coach a younger team and do better than expected with them. Harden and Dwight clearly do not respect JB as a coach. You can't trade either of them or you have no shot of anything past the first round. You have to bring in a thibs guy who had a meaningful impact on harden for team USA. Thibs has the resume to be able sit sit James down when he starts he carelessness with the ball and lackluster effort. If JB benched James he would probably check himself into the game and laugh.

 

Defense tries to switch and trap too much and it ends up with everyone playing outta place

Rockets dont have a strategy to take anything away from the opp. Korver was wide open on a majority of his misses.

What are doing on defense in practice
